Bill Gates is the richest man in the world. Bill Gates was asked by someone, "Is there anyone else in the world who is richer than you?" Bill Gates said, "Yes, there is someone who is richer than me." Then, he narrated a story. There was a time When I was neither rich nor famous. One day I went to the airport in New York. I saw a newspaper vendor. I wanted to buy a newspaper from him. But, I did not have the spare change. So I gave up the idea of buying a newspaper and bought it from the vendor. I returned it.
I told him I didn't have enough money. The seller told me, "I'm giving it to you for free." I took the magazine at his request. Coincidentally, two to three months later I landed again at the same airport and even that day I did not have the chance to buy the magazine. The seller again offered me the magazine for free. I rejected that and said I can't take it. Because, even today I don't have enough money. He said, "You can take the magazine, I'm sharing it out of my profit. It won't hurt me." I took the magazine.
After almost 19 years I became famous and known to people. Suddenly I remembered that newspaper vendor. I started looking for him and after about a month and a half of searching, I found him. I asked him, "Do you know me? He said, "Yes, you're Bill Gates." I asked him again, "You remember?! Did you give me a magazine for free?
The seller said, "Yes, I remember." I gave you the magazine twice. I said, "I want to repay the help you gave me back then. Tell me what you want in your life, and I will make it happen."
The seller said, "Sir, how do you think you can match my help by doing this?" I asked, "But, why?" He said, "I helped you when I was a poor newspaper vendor and you are trying to help me when you become the richest man in the world. So how does your help match my help?"
Bill Gates said, "I realized that day that the newspaper seller was richer than me. Because he didn't wait to get rich to help someone." We must understand that the truly rich are those who have a mind richer than a lot of money. A precious mind is more necessary than a lot of money.
