GadgetGuy

GadgetGuy Helping you make sense of technology and gadgets with reviews, news and how-to guides. www.gadgetguy.com.au A lot has changed over the past 25 years.

GadgetGuy.com.au is Australia’s leading and oldest technology ‘demystifyer’ publication for consumers. Simply put, it is all about how to choose and use electronics and technology – from computers to coffee makers and avoid those lemons out there! We focus on Australian lifestyle technology news and reviews – if it is not available here, or does not have local support, we don’t cover it. One thing

we won’t do is simply regurgitate international news feeds – every article is carefully curated and researched for accuracy. And if it is simply a press announcement (that we think our readers need to know about), we will tag it as such. The original GadgetGuy was the trademark Hawaiian shirt wearing Peter Blasina. He has since taken a few steps back to enjoy retirement, and the crown has passed to Gadget Group CEO, Val Quinn. For starters, the internet was just an academic ‘tool’ in the early 90’s. Now it is an inextricable part of our lives. Smartphones where unheard of, now they outnumber our global population. The pace of change has gone from years to scant months as technology becomes an integral part of our lives. To keep up to date with these changes, the GadgetGuy team travel extensively to international conferences and trade shows, write and speak on the rapidly changing landscape of technological innovation and its impact on business and consumers. Most importantly, we regularly review and analyse a broad range of communication, computer, entertainment, appliance, software, car and other innovation-focused products. GadgetGuy’s Val Quinn is also a regular tech presenter and Channel Seven’s Sunrise breakfast programs resident tech expert, so keep a lookout for him!

Pure colour. Thinner panel. Brighter picture. Simpler design. TCL’s new X11L uses Super Quantum Dot (SQD) to hit 100% of the BT.2020 colour space, with the same wide-gamut colour high-end RGB backlight TVs deliver, in a slimmer, more affordable panel. Add 20,000 dimming zones and 10,000 NITS peak brightness and you’ve got picture quality that genuinely impressed me when I saw it in Shenzhen at TCL‘s factory. On sale now in Australia. Find one in-store.
