WIP - Some new minis on the way! with Xmas on the way and thoughts of food, i thought I’d do a series of small 5x5 inch oils based on Herbs. 🌿 This work in progress is a small bouquet of bay from my garden. Here’s the finished study! I learned so much about how to control the oils and work with mediums and so much more about colour mixing. If you are interested in doing this course, it was by the marvellous ☺️, who is such a wonderful and talented tutor. Slide to see the progression of the painting through various layers. The real deal is at the end for comparison (as if I needed to point that out! 🫢) I’m certainly no “Vermeer” but I’m super happy with the result!! 💯🖼️🎨😎

I’m currently doing an online course, learning how to paint like the Dutch Masters!! 🤣 This little study is part of the painting called “The Little Street” by Johannes Vermeer. Learning colour mixing and how to paint fat-over-lean “properly”. Canvas is prepped and sketch ready to go. Swipe for the real thing. Can’t wait to get started on this one. 🖼️🎨🖌️🧑‍🎨
