I don’t know when website designers seemingly universally decided to leave their clients in the dark when it comes to what to include on their website.

I believe that as a strategic growth partner of your business that we should be guiding you to include the information on your website that is going to:

- sell your services and point of difference
- overcome objections
- cater to different buyer types
- use keywords that will help get you found on Google

Not send you off with a blank piece of paper and hope for the best.

At Coja Creative we personalize your onboarding to make sure we understand your business and can structure your website accordingly.

I could kiss the version of me 5 years ago that decided I was done working for someone else when it meant missing everyday with my kids.

How lucky are we to live in a world where we can create income from our computers and access internet anywhere in the world.

Open up your website now and check, within the first 5 seconds could a potential customer understand what you do, how it benefits them and what to do next?

Is the first impression it’s making a good one?

If a customer only skimmed the headings would they understand who you are and why they should stick around?

If the answer to any of the above is no then you have a starting point to fix your website and the impact it has on visitors in those first moments.

Tips for a good first impression:
- Use high quality imagery for your hero section

- Avoid generic language that could be about anyone and concisely summarize your special sauce

- Use your location in your first couple of headings

- Avoid generic headings such as ‘services’ in favour of more specific headings like ‘24/7 emergency plumbing services’

How did you go with your 5 second test? Let me know below!

This is what I mean when I say your website should make your ideal customer instantly go… yes I’m in the right place!!

Your business has evolved since your website was first created, what once worked now feels like a tshirt you grew out of 5 years ago, it doesn’t suit who you are now, it makes you a bit embarrassed to think about and to be honest, doesn’t make you look as good as you are!

We’ve got to fix that because unfortunately that old tshirt is costing you more than your self esteem it’s costing you money, yes in immediate sales but also the lifetime revenue of all of the people that click onto your site and think ‘this brand is not for me’ and never come back.

If one of your goals is to grow your business so you can make more money and more impact and have an amazing life then a website that is meh is not going to help you get there.

A good website will act as the foundation of all your other marketing efforts, you post on social media 👉 someone checks out your website, you get a word of mouth referral 👉 they check out your website, someone looks you up after seeing your work 👉 they look up your website and if your website is two sizes too small, has a little stain on the front and the neckline is stretched your ideal customer who wants to spend money is going to go somewhere where it looks like they take their business seriously.

If your website is like your old tshirt, sitting at the back of your wardrobe never getting worn because you always pick the newer nicer version then this is your sign to have a refresh! You deserve it!

Ever found yourself wondering if you can just buy your way to the top of Google?

Short answer… you can… for as long as you keep paying to run ads.

The longer answer… once you stop paying for ads your website will go back to its organic position in Google. Everyone wants to be at the top of Google but there are limited places so it makes sense that it’s not as simple as clicking your fingers. Search engine optimization is a longer term game, the foundations you lay now are the ones you benefit from in 6 months time and for years to come.

Paid ads should be the sprinkles on top of your marketing efforts so that your Google position is actually strengthened by your ad traffic, rather than needing to rely on paid ads constantly to have your business be found by potential customers.

The best time to work on your websites search engine optimization was 6 months ago, the second best time is today.
