Happy mid school holidays in Queensland, Australia my fellow parents. This is your friendly reminder to check your children’s school bags. Rookie mistake on my behalf relying on the truth from a 5yo that there was absolutely NOTHING in his lunch bag. How silly I was to believe him 🤦🏼‍♀️🤪🤮

As we all know, my eldest son is a gorgeous little boy who has a different view of our world. He has been supported constantly with his educational journey by so many people. He is moving schools at the end of the Term and continuing his education with a school more equipped to support his complex needs. Today was a very special day for me. I was one of many featured illustrators in a book called REMEMBER: TRIPLE ZERO HEROS written by Julie E Miller. I got to read the book to both my son’s classes and answer all their questions about being an illustrator. At the end, and as a ‘thank you’ to the school, I presented a copy to the Library as a teacher’s resource from not only me, but on behalf of both my sons. I’m so grateful of the support I have received from the school. My youngest son (who also needs support) remains at the school however, this gift was the least I could give, to say thank you. 💙

Feeling pretty miserable at the moment but really want to send out an appreciation post. It’s not often that you find someone who gets you and knows just what to do when you are sick and feeling miserable. When you find that friend (I call her my soul mole / sister from another Mr), it reminds you that someone does care and someone is on your team. Not sure what I would do at the moment if my ‘soul mole’ Jacquie wasn’t around. Being on your own is tough - especially when you are sick. Anyway I am not blowing the wind up her skirt anymore, she will get a big head and I will have to deal with it later hahahaha. Love you girl. 🤮

I wish I had a more positive post to make, and a more flattering photo of myself on my business feed but the reality is, I unfortunately don’t. I tested positive for COVID today. I have been suffering for days thinking I was just stressed, run down and continued to solider on. I am now having to put my little white flag up in defeat and stand down.

I have managed to dodge it for 3 years, but now it is my turn. I realise many of my clients have emailed me for quotes and work. I will get back to you when I can. For now it’s time to try and rest.

I thank everyone for their understanding.

You may or may not like or agree with Senator Jacqui Lambie and what she lays down. The purpose of this post is not to open up a forum on your views of her as a politician.

The fact that in the last 3 years I have experienced so many similar circumstances she has, and she is up there saying it exactly how it is, is absolutely refreshing. Finally someone who GETS it. Finally someone like me has found a voice for herself in Jacqui.

I’ve been a bit quiet on the social media front. It’s actually been nice to sit back and focus on the important, yet simple things in life.

I am currently putting my focus and energy on my children. So yup, I’m supporting their sports on the weekends and being the stereotypical “footy mum”.

I also am lucky to have a government funded opportunity to study full time (yup while working full time). The funding has paid for a qualification that allows me to teach my zone of genius (Graphic Design) to others. On successful completion I can enter the world of adult education through the Vocational Education & Training (VET) process and teach others my passion.

I am really excited for the professional pathways this has opened me up to and finally excited to see what the future might have in store for me.
