A new website can feel like a fresh start, but Google does not automatically carry your old visibility across with it.
Your existing website may already have years of SEO value built into it: ranked pages, backlinks, indexed URLs, content structure, metadata, user signals and organic traffic patterns. If those elements are not mapped and protected before launch, a new website can accidentally leave that value behind.
Website migrations should not be treated as a final dev checklist item.
They need SEO involved from the planning stage, so the new website does not just look better, it keeps the search visibility the business has already worked hard to earn.
