The Final Piece of The Puzzle!

Last but definitely not least we have now finished the painting to all the external steelwork and windows of Golden Grove High School.

As you can see, we saved the best to last (more like hardest) and with the help from our friends at GroveScaff we have finally painted the big tower, staircase shelter and rear of the admin building.

Back in the day Golden Grove High School was painted in Yellow and Green which at that time were popular colour selections.
After years of UV's and general wear n tear the old colours really dated especially with the yellow fading to more of an off white/cream colour.

In around 2019 the school made the decision to change the colour scheme to have a more 'up to date look', using ColorBond colours which has really help to modernize the exterior look of the school.

At B&H our relationship with Golden Grove High goes back well over 30+ years and in this time, they have always taken their maintenance seriously which has really help to keep their buildings in great condition,
also, with the transition of their facilities management team, it is great to see them continue on (if not more than ever) with taking the upkeep of their great School seriously.

Just like the 'Sydney Harbor Bridge project' we look forward to continually helping Golden Grove High School maintain their infrastructure into the future.

Once again, we have been busy at Golden Grove high over the past couple of weeks tackling the external surfaces of their C-Block building. These areas have been put in the 'too hard basket' for some time now mainly due to the harder accessibility compared to other areas in the school. We did once tackle these surfaces approximately 20 years ago but since then they have been left to the elements, and as you can see it was well overdue some TLC from the B&H Painting & Decorating team.

So along with help from GroveScaff to get us up there safely, Wattyl & Dulux paints to supply us with quality external paints, BUT most of all... our hard-working team of keen tradies we got the job completed to last another 20years.

Golden Grove High School have been our number1 client for 25-30 years now, we even had a joke saying Bob has to be the longest worker at the school with aprox 30 years of maintenance painting.

They have a great management team who we enjoy working for and I must say the kids didn't cause us any bother whatsoever during the project, we have worked in many schools over the years, and we did expect some shenanigans but credit to them not one smart-arse comment or action during our time onsite.

So thanks for the work GG High! we look forward to your next painting project.

Back to start off the year we were back at Golden Grove High School, tackling their Dame Roma Mitchell Centre.

A complete change of colour to the whole building, making it look much more fresh and modern, using both large and small Elevated Work Platforms to get the job finished, also using our spray gun to efficiently paint the corrugated shed at the back of the building.
Also ensuring that we uphold all safety standards to keep ourselves and others safe at all times.

We've been hard at work recently, one of our most recent projects being this beautiful home in the Adelaide Hills, currently being built by James Michael Homes.
A full Interior and exterior paint job, this has been a terrific project to be a part of, using top quality paint from Wattyl Australia and utilising all our equipment including our spray gun to get this job done to a high standard.

It has been amazing being able to see this home come too life, and it will only get better once all the finishing touches are applied.

Kitchen Restorations

Over the past couple of months, we have had a few more Kitchen restoration projects including the following two kitchens, one at Port Noarlunga and the other in the Adelaide Hills.

Both of these kitchen cabinets had solid timber doors ideal for our hardwearing epoxy coatings, not connected whatsoever but coincidentlly being of the same style plus both clients went for similar colour selections bringing them back to a new finish at a fraction of the price compared to joinery replacement.

Also, the bonus of being solid timber rather than laminated particle board means that these kitchens will not be affected by water damages causing swelling, will last another 10-20 years to come, plus the bonus of being a much more sustainable option.

Getting rid of the old varnish finishes really modernized these old kitchens, plus we fitted new black handles at the Adelaide Hills project really making the new colour pop!

So, if you are thinking of replacing your old kitchen or bathroom joinery as it is looking old and tired, maybe restoration is an option you should look into.

Here are some pics of a freshly painted kitchen we have just completed as part of a full internal residential repaint up at Craigburn Farm.

This kitchen was in good solid condition, but our client just wasn't happy with the old school brown 'Woodgrain look' of this joinery as it really did clash with the modern black decor of their home.

After asking our opinion we suggested that painting the joinery was a good option as it was in good solid condition, would only cost a fraction of the price compared to replacement, Plus they would end up with the same if not a better result due to some of the modern flimsy joinery being installed these days.

Starting with good prep and high adhesion primers, Then Finished in a satin black Epoxy Enamel this kitchen now looks like new, Has really helped modernize the whole open plan kitchen / living area of their home, and will last for the next 10 years to come.

So,

Off The Floor Accessible Toilets

Here is a small job that Matt has been working on in stages while he has been out-n-about / in-between jobs.

This is an access toilet door with painted on signage (no decals) as requested by our client.
Due to the ‘barn door style’ of this door our best option was to go old school and paint the signage on rather than a decal.

After completing the blue in an Epoxy Enamel (3x coats over multiple visits)
Matt returned to do the signage in the grey (2 x coats over 2 days)
This Epoxy Enamel will make sure the door will be able to withstand the high wear and tear nature of this particular Accessible WC.

This is not your average Access WC... it is a portable Accessible Toilet designed to be taken out to public events to make it easier for people who need this style of amenities for themselves or loved ones.

Features include
1. Hydraulic suspension making access easy with little to no ramp height
2. Fully automated door
3. Air conditioned for comfort
4. Full sized ‘off the floor’ adult change table
5. Over engineered / very safe gantry system making it easy for moving from chair to table and or toilet.

Not only is this mobile access bathroom up to date and more than capable,
But it also looks cool as!
