**AusAlert National Test — Today at 2pm**
A reminder that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is conducting the first nationwide test of Australia's new emergency warning system, AusAlert, today, Monday 27 July.
**Test times by region:**
- QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS — 2:00pm AEST
- SA, NT (incl. Broken Hill) — 1:30pm ACST
- WA — 12:00pm AWST
**What will happen:**
Compatible mobile phones, smart watches and tablets will vibrate and emit a loud siren-style alert for approximately 10 seconds, followed by an on-screen message confirming it is a test only and that no action is required.
**No action is needed on your part.** This is a scheduled test to validate the system ahead of its official launch in October 2026. If your device doesn't receive the alert, this is not cause for concern — it may relate to device compatibility, software version, or signal availability at the time.
