We’ve all heard those phrases….. “Be the change you want to see in the world” and “In a world where you can be anything, be kind”

I feel like we’ve all become numb to what these phrases are actually about and possibly because we see them all over social media now. Perhaps they’re just becoming pretty cover photos for our social pages yet the message they convey, isn’t really heard.

Today, I challenge you to look beyond your expectations. Beyond what you need. Beyond what you want. I challenge you to consider giving yourself a moment to ask, if that person ok? Instead of judging them without knowledge. 🤍

Check on those around you. Check on the ones who have become quiet. The ones that are angry, distant, disconnected. And possibly even more importantly, the ones that are “happy”. The ones that always smile. The ones that are always helping others. The ones that always say they’re fine or they’re doing ok because maybe, just maybe, they are not ok. 😔

Maybe their smiles hide the hurt. Maybe their assistance to others is driven by the need for distraction or their own kindness regardless of themselves.
Reach out and ask them if they are ok and then stop and listen to everything they say and everything they don’t say because you could just be the light they need. 🫶

Finally, I ask R U OK? Because it’s not just a nice thing to ask. It’s a question I am really interested in knowing the answer to. ❤️
