This week we had a company day to celebrate our recently completed large projects, new & returning staff Graham, Reggi, and Hennie, and the 21st Electronics Tradesman completed at Comtel; Michael Watkins.
Thanks to Adrenaline Sports - Qld for hosting us in the morning, and then we returned back up the hill for a BBQ lunch.
Michael was presented with his engraved Leatherman which will serve him well throughout his career, and he also managed to embarrass us all with a blistering 28.1s laptime.

In our slavish, single minded pursuit of net zero, we have secured our first EV; a 2026 Toyota Hilux. We have only added half the fruit as the model is so new, most of the berries haven't been released yet.
Professionally supplied and delivered by Paul from Lockyer Valley Toyota.
I've driven it for the week, before one of the techs grabs it for useful work, & it was pleasant to drive, and seems to have all of the modern features, plus there is a button to stop it yelling at you. Big tick from me.

The final challenge that electronics apprentices need to complete before qualifying as a journeyman, is to swap out an antenna array on a Parks & Wildlife tower deep in Carnarvon Gorge, which is a known breeding site for dropbears.
We are pleased to announce that Cormac successfully completed the task and has been presented with his trade certificate. He suffered an injury when a doe followed him up the mast and he lost a toe when she savaged his steel capped boot.
