Owners of certain HP laptops are currently facing serious problems. Following a failed BIOS update, the devices are no longer usable and display a BSOD. A solution is still being worked on, however, it is mainly expensive premium HP notebooks that are said to be affected, such as the ZBook Ultra G1a or the EliteBook X G1a. Users of certain ProBook models, such as the 455 G7, are also reporting similar problems. Reference: (click on link below for the full story)

The other Sunday job was to diagnose the DELL broken power switch. 2 issues - the plastic bit that you press to turn it on was broken, this button also connects the volume up and down. Second problem was that the button (circled) had broken away from the circuitry therefore requiring a new board to be ordered in.

Sundays job was to fit a battery to an ASUS laptop. Should give the thing a bit more life now that's done.

Had to recover data from a dead laptop. This drive had BITLOCKER installed so needed the 48 digit key to access the data. Once done, data backed up and transferred to a replacement laptop.
