We’ve been invited to contribute to edX online!

Sponsored by the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) and delivered online via the EdX platform, Curtin University and the University of Queensland will be offering six new online micro-credential courses covering the foundations of modern mining, one of which PETRA’s contribution is most valuable - Digital Transformation of Mining (MINE5X)

The MINE5X interactive course has been designed and developed in consultation with PETRA and will deepen a student’s understanding of the mining sector with videos, expert insights, simulations, discussion forums and high quality learning material.

There are six courses Completing all six courses will earn a student a Professional Certificate in the Foundations of Modern Mining which provides an entry pathway to post-graduate courses at Curtin University and the University of Queensland.

PETRA sponsors ISEE Australian Chapter meeting in Perth.

Leon Morgan our head of partnerships was delighted to present at last Friday’s ISEE Australian Chapter meeting in Perth. The evening included two great topics which created great discussions and learnings.

PETRA’s scalable enterprise software MAXTA was showcased as part of a case study to understand how engineers and geologists are using machine learning for digital mine-to-mil and pit-to-port value chain optimisation.

All in all was a great event with discussions on new innovative drill bits and how much traffic a quarry shotfirer sit in going from site to the magazine and back again.
