As the end of the year approaches and parents are considering what sort of phone they are getting their child entering high school, or even what phone to get them for Christmas, here is an interesting experiment into the algorithms used.
Yes there is a social media ban coming up, but we also need to be realistic about how well it will be implemented.
There will still be challenges and based on this experiment risks.

Armed with a burner phone and a fake name, I set out to learn how Instagram’s algorithm really works. This is what happened next.

Boys are curious, and with unchecked internet they can get themselves into inappropriate territory with ease.

We recently met a families who's 9 year old son had unchecked access to the internet. His parents were simply unaware of what he was looking at. They had conversations, they thought he understood.

But the problem is, he is 9 and had the whole internet in his hand to explore. Unfortunately what he has seen cannot be undone.

Can you see mum disappear in this video? Then the second mum appear?
The kid also ages a few years in a few seconds!
Yup its an AI fail 😆
But overall AI is also failing our kids.

AI (or versions of) it is being used to keep our kids engaged in content, serve them radicalised views, erode their ability to think critically and then also help them shortcut learning.
