🔎 The results from our 2023 lunchbox survey and experiment are in!
🔬 Our scientists tested the temperature of lunches on a hot day in different conditions, then sent the food to the lab to look at bacteria growth.
Here’s the key takeaways:
🌡️ Lunches with ice bricks were 6°C to 10°C cooler than those without.
🧫 Bacteria in cut watermelon, without an ice brick to keep it cool, were 13 times higher by 2pm.
‼️ Invest in an insulated bag and ice brick (or pack a frozen drink or water bottle) to help keep foods cool and reduce the risk of food poisoning. ‼️
