πŸ’¬ Some kind words from David Fellows at The Fellows Foundation πŸ‘‡

David runs his service solo these days β€” no big team, no admin support, just him keeping care and paperwork ticking along.

Here's what he shared with us:

"I've been really impressed with how quickly Comm.care integrates new features. Even running solo now, it still works well for me β€” simple enough to manage progress notes and invoicing without a full team behind it."

This means a lot to hear. We want Comm.care to work just as well for a one-person service as it does for a big provider. πŸ™Œ

Thanks, David.

SIL providers: if you're getting claim rejections since July, this is likely why.

From 1 July 2026, Registration Group 0115 was replaced by 0138. Claims submitted under 0115 after that date are being rejected automatically.

Here's what needs to change:

1. Registration group: 0115 β†’ 0138
2. Rates: update to the 2026–27 Pricing Schedule
3. Pre-30 June services: still claim under 0115 β€” separately

Registered under 0115? The transition to 0138 is automatic. You don't need to reapply β€” but you do need to update your billing.

Unregistered and delivering SIL? The October 2026 deadline is approaching. Plan managers will be required to reject your invoices after that date.

New in Comm.care πŸ‘‡

The Schedule view now shows a warning when a staff member's booked hours go over 38 per week β€” right in the roster, in real time.

Red text. Yellow row. Easy to spot.

We also updated the Unassigned row β€” it turns red when there are unfilled shifts, so nothing slips through the cracks.

Small update, but a big help when you're managing a full roster and trying to stay on top of Award obligations at the same time.

"We use Comm.care for records, then WhatsApp for everything else."

That's what providers on our Client Advisory Board told us earlier this year. We heard it loud and clear.

Push notifications are now live on Comm.care for iOS and Android. a team member on any record β€” they get an instant alert on their phone, even if the app is closed. The conversation lands on the care record, not in a group chat.

No more app-switching. No more "did you see my message?"

SIL providers β€” here's what to look for when choosing invoicing software.

SIL billing isn't like other NDIS supports. You've got:
- Multiple support workers rostered per participant
- Overnight and weekend shifts with different rates
- A line item that changed from 0115 to 0138 in July
- PRODA claims that need to match your service agreement to the cent

If your invoicing system can't link the roster to the claim, you're reconciling manually β€” and that's where errors creep in.

What good SIL invoicing software should do:

βœ… Pull shift data directly into the claim (no double entry)
βœ… Apply the correct 0138 line item automatically
βœ… Export claim files directly to PRODA
βœ… Keep progress notes linked to each shift for audit trail

The NDIA can now hold your claim for verification before the payment is released.

That's not a future change. It's live from July 2026.

Most providers doing the right thing will be fine β€” but only if your records can actually back up what you're claiming.

Is your team's claiming process ready for real-time verification?

NDIS funding doesn't arrive in one lump sum anymore β€” it comes in structured periods, usually quarterly.

Which means "are we on budget?" is now four questions per participant, not one.

We've just shipped an update to the Comm.care Roadmap that reflects how NDIS plans actually work now. You can split a participant's Roadmap into multiple consecutive funding periods β€” each with its own budget, dates, and expenditure tracking.

Every progress note is matched to the period it was delivered in. Past periods are grey, the current period is highlighted, future periods are white. The dashboard filters key off today's active period, not the whole plan.

No new Roadmap needed. No manual spreadsheet to reconcile. Just a clearer view of where each participant is tracking, right now.

🚨 CHSP providers: 3 things to do before 30 June 2026.

Recording My Aged Care IDs (MAC IDs) in DEX is already a legal requirement β€” and the hard cutoff is 30 June 2026.

Here's your checklist:
βœ… Collect MAC IDs for all existing clients and save them in DEX
βœ… Confirm your software/IT system is configured to submit MAC IDs via DEX
βœ… Check the DEX Stage 2 Toolkit on the CHSP Resources page for guidance

Also on the horizon: Stage 3 DEX changes are coming around August 2026, capturing additional service delivery metrics. Worth planning ahead.
