One education leader. 125 resources. And 36 colleagues who came on board in a single month.

That is Bryce Flannery's story at Point Cook Senior Secondary College.

Bryce is an Assistant Principal who also teaches VCE VM Numeracy at Year 12. No textbook, no standard resource library. Every unit planned from scratch for students on the applied pathway who need to see the point of maths before they engage with it.

Over eight months, he built a library of curriculum units on Teacher's Buddy: MasterChef Numeracy, Coffee & Smoothies, Orienteering Numeracy, Hoddle Waddle. Real-world contexts, iterated and refined.

And as the school's platform administrator, he ran Point Cook's rollout alongside his teaching. October 2025: 36 of 42 active teachers came on board. 86% activation from a standing start.

That model, one credible practitioner already using it and already building for colleagues, is what turns a pilot into a school-wide practice. Not a top-down mandate. A working example from someone already in the room.

Every school has someone like Bryce.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ 2026 isn't just another July 4th. It's America's 250th birthday. Today's students deserve a lesson that matches the moment.
We used Teacher's Buddy to build a full set of classroom-ready resources for Independence Day: curated resource packs, a presentation deck, a discussion prompt, and a quiz β€” all generated in minutes, all ready to use.

We had the pleasure of attending 2026 earlier!

We spent two days listening to educators and leaders in Innovation Alley as part of the EduGrowth network. Together, we created lessons, simulations and adapted work for diverse students' needs.

Here's what stood out for our team:

Three things stood out πŸ’¬:

1. Schools are not looking for more AI tools, they want less chaos.
A common question that moved beyond 'what can AI do for me?' was 'how do we maintain consistency with AI?' With plenty of tools to choose from and new developments each week, it's hard to keep up!

2. Differentiation is still the biggest challenge in the classroom.
Class sizes and individual learning needs continue to grow with very little support for classroom teachers. How can we realistically attend to the needs of 30 students at once, without letting any of them slip through the cracks?

3. Time saved is not time found.
This was the heart of Bec Burrell's session on the EdTech Innovation Stage. If AI saves a teacher an hour of planning, that hour isn't spent in the staffroom relaxing. It's reapplied into another aspect of the teaching workload - marking, feedback, extra-curricular work, meetings, the list goes on.

The better question is: what should that space be used for?
We heard from the audience it belongs to connections.
Connections with students, parents, peers and the wider school community, the very human element of teaching.

Thanks to everyone who came to see us, entered the competition, and joined the conversation. We're looking forward to fostering less chaos, more headspace and better connection.

If you want to continue the conversation, Comment 'BOOK' and we'll send you a link to book time with Bec or Sarah.

What happens when technology gives teachers time back?

At today’s EduGrowth Innovation Stage at , Bec Burrell and Adrian Cotterell asked the room exactly that.

The answer was not β€œless work”.

It was:
πŸ’š connecting with students
πŸ’š mentoring
πŸ’š feedback
πŸ’š marking
πŸ’š more considered lessons
πŸ’š rapport building

That is the real opportunity.

Not just using AI to do things faster, but using it to create space for the work that matters most. Teaching impact.

Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation today.

Come and visit these amazing humans at booths 3-4 in Innovation Alley with EduGrowth. Today is the first day of this week. 😎

Join Matt, Bec and Sarah with live demos and conversations running all day. Bring your learner differentiation challenges and watch Teacher's Buddy work through it.

If you are coming to the show, do not miss Bec Burrell and Adrian Cotterell from Thinking Mode on the EdTech Innovation Stage tomorrow at 11am. "The Reabsorption Trap: Why Saving Teachers Time Isn't Enough." If it’s not about saving time, what is the right question?

We are also giving away a year of Teacher's Buddy for one school (approx. $20,000) β€” scan the QR code at our stand to enter. Every entry unlocks a free account on Teacher's Buddy 2.0.

For school leaders interested, ask to speak with the team about a 1-hour PD training session. Your whole school could be live in a week.
