💁🏻♀️ Let’s chat brand guidelines and style guides…
So let’s start by unpacking the simplified style guide created for Crave Halmis - Korean Fast Casual as part of the For Starters Brand Identity Package as an example.
Because this package focuses on the brand foundations only, it doesn’t include broader directions like website styling, photography direction or illustration applications and the likes. But those can always be added later as the brand grows.
So what is included in a style guide?
✨ Logo usage: Which logo to use, when and how to use it, and on which backgrounds for best results.
🎨 Colour palette: Print and digital colour codes, plus guidance on colour hierarchy and tints for flexibility.
🔤 Typography: Font hierarchy and recommended structure, styling, and links to download or purchase licences.
Basically, it’s the go-to instruction manual for all things brand.
It keeps everything consistent across packaging, social media, signage, ads and more, so the brand always looks polished, professional and recognisable.
While creative interpretation and trying new things within this set of rules is encouraged, getting “too creative” and using new fonts and colours etc just ends in a confusing and messy brand. Which is not what we want.
Consistency builds trust. And trust builds loyalty.
