This week, someone asked me…

“How do you build so much trust with people and have such natural conversations?”

No one ever said being more serious means more sales or commissions.

The key to converting sales isn’t about trying to get a sale. It’s about having a real conversation, guiding the person through the sales process with a helpful energy, and seeing if it’s truly a good fit for them.

Drop the script. Drop the agenda. Just talk.

It all comes back to intent. Being yourself, not overly controlled, reserved, or rigid. No one wants to talk to a script or a robot. Sales is a human-to-human interaction.

Aim to connect first. Have a chat. Then naturally guide the conversation back to the structure of the call to keep it on topic.

That way, it flows effortlessly instead of feeling forced or scripted.

When you take a neutral, natural tone and just speak freely, people feel more comfortable opening up.

At the end of the day, people mirror your energy and communication.

If you have a hidden agenda or that sales and commission breath, they can feel it, and it pushes them away.

That’s why you need to speak naturally without being cold, blunt, overly logical, or robotic.

The goal is to position yourself as the trusted advisor who can take them from A to Z.

Adopt the mindset of abundance.

I don’t need this sale. I don’t need anyone’s money. We have hundreds of leads.

But at the same time, if I know this can genuinely benefit them, I’ll ask the right questions to help them step past fear and commit.

When you show up without needing to convince or prove yourself, you naturally come across as high value. People start talking more and selling themselves on why they should buy.

Focus on identifying their core problems and needs, not just pushing a product or solution onto them. That’s what builds trust, and that’s what makes sales feel easy.

comes down to one key thing - how they communicate

Average salespeople think they’re good at sales.

They think they’re good at handling objections.

And to be fair, a lot of them understand the concepts. They know the frameworks, they know the structure, they’ve heard the word tracks.

But when you actually listen to them on calls or in role plays, it becomes obvious. They sound unnatural.

Most average salespeople are speaking from their head, not from their heart.

Their words come out cold, logical, even rehearsed, and you can feel it.

There’s no real emotion or sincerity behind what they’re saying so it doesn’t land with the prospect the way they think it will.

And that’s the problem because sales is all about emotion.

People buy based on how you make them feel.

They need to feel you’re genuine and real

They justify with logic after the fact but the actual buying decision is driven by emotion.

When you’re too intellectual, when you’re stuck in your head trying to say everything right, you strip all the humanity out of the conversation.

And no matter how technically correct you are, you come across scripted, robotic, and disconnected.

Elite salespeople, the ones making $20k, $50k, even $100k a month in commissions, they get this.

They’ve mastered the art of being real.

They know the frameworks but they make it their own. They speak from the heart. They sound like themselves. And because of that, their words land with conviction, authenticity, and emotional impact.

It’s not just what you say. It’s how you say it.

That’s the real difference between an average rep and an elite one.

First - they liked that I’ve been doing this longer than anyone else in Australia. I’ve been running this for five years now, and they felt like I had the systems, quality sales collateral, proof, verification in the media and could actually answer the detailed questions the others couldn’t.

Plus having my own recruitment company on the back end of my business gave them confidence that I had the most valuable network and opportunities once trained for them to work with.

Second - they said I just came across more genuine and relaxed. Apparently, a lot of the other calls felt super salesy, high pressure and lacked transparency, like the person they were speaking to was stressed and under the pump themselves (some were the owners taking sales calls themselves)

A few even said they got the sense the other companies were so busy chasing new sales, they wouldn’t actually have the time or bandwidth to properly train and support them after signing up.

And lastly, the biggest red flag for them was the wild claims some of these companies were making.

A lot of them were charging anywhere from $8,000 to $12,000 for a three to six month training with placement. The were claiming they guarantee 100% placement, like every single person who joins gets placed into a role.

Anyone who’s been around this industry for more than five minutes knows that’s complete bu****it.

It’s just not how this works.

Some of the people I spoke to had already done other trainings before, so they knew straight away those numbers were inflated and completely unrealistic and they walked because of it.

It was just a good reminder that people aren’t stupid. They can smell when something’s off and they’re not just buying a training, they’re buying trust, experience, a business owner with substance, a high level network/community and confidence that they’ll actually get looked after.

The One Closing Tactic That’s Helped Me Close Over $10 Million in High Ticket Sales 🔥

Before I reveal price and ask for the sale on a sales call, I always ask this one question:

“Is there anything else you’d like me to go over for you to feel comfortable getting started with this today?”

Then, I heat check to make sure it’s a genuine response by saying:

“Are you sure?” (In a natural and firm tone)

Why does this work so well?

Because it pulls up any final concerns, questions, or objections before price is revealed.

(once price is revealed, they feel pressure to make a decision and can stall/lie having a natural conversation before is much easier)

That way, I can have a relaxed conversation, answer final questions, smooth things over and make sure they feel 100% confident about moving forward.

By the time I mention the investment, I’ve already pre handled the final objections/concerns naturally and they’ve confirmed with a genuine “YES”
