Content note: This post discusses mental health and su***de.

In the 2024 Causes of Death report (Australia Bureau of Statistics), males accounted for 76.5% of total deaths by su***de. In remote Australia, su***de rates ranged from 20.5 to 24.6 deaths per 100,000 people, the highest in five years and more than double the rate seen in cities.

This confronting reality underscores the importance of open conversations and community support. This Men's Health Week, we've partnered with The Outback Mind Foundation to host screenings for "When the Dust Settles", a powerful documentary sharing real-life stories of men and the impact of su***de on families and communities in its aftermath.

Four public screenings were held across Moranbah, Blackwater and Dysart, including one at Moranbah State High School. Each event brought people together over a Civeo-catered barbeque under the stars, creating a space for connection and conversation.

Civeo is committed to supporting the wellbeing of our residents and the wider community. Thank you Aaron Schultz, the Isaac Regional Council, local community groups, school organisers and all participants for this meaningful event.

Recently, our Village Managers and senior leaders came together for a team-building activity with a twist. What started as a series of friendly challenges testing speed, communication and teamwork turned out to be something even more meaningful.

Through the Bike Brigade, program hosted by Beyond the Boardroom, the bikes they built together were donated to children aged 6 to 9 attending Nollamara Primary School in Mirrabooka, one of Perth’s most socioeconomically disadvantaged areas. For all of them, a brand new bike was something completely out of reach, until now.

It's a great example of what one of our values of Collaboration looks like in practice. When people come together with a shared purpose, the impact goes well beyond the room.

Quality assurance was taken very seriously. Every bike was safety-checked by a qualified mechanic, and our team members even volunteered as test riders. (All in the interest of the children, of course)

Here's to the start of many rides ahead for the new riders!

Community impact doesn't happen in isolation. It takes coordination among partners, suppliers, and the wider community, all pulling in the same direction.

Our ongoing collaboration with SPL Linen and Safe Sleep Mackay
brings those pieces together, combining supply chain capability, repurposed resources and local knowledge to support people experiencing homelessness in the Mackay region.

What began with repurposing surplus linen and blankets has grown into something broader. Today, that includes providing essential bedding for Safe Sleep's converted bus shelters and ongoing laundry support to keep the sleeping pods operational for those who need them most.

A recent example of this partnership in action was Safe Sleep Mackay's "Bosses on Buses" fundraiser, where local leaders spent a night on concrete or in a narrow pod to raise awareness and funds for homelessness in the region, raising more than AU$21,000. It's one of many initiatives that show what's possible when communities, industry and partners align behind a shared purpose.

This is just the beginning, and we're committed to continuing this work with like-minded partners and creating lasting impact in the community.

Big jumps, fast laps and a crowd to match: What an event Moranbah! 🏁

Civeo was proud to be a major sponsor of the Moranbah BMX Weekend of Madness, where over 280 riders, from fearless five-year-olds to seasoned competitors, took to the track for an electrifying program of racing.

Held in partnership with the North Queensland Games, the carnival drew thousands from across the region and beyond. Every rider showed up fully fuelled and ready to race, with podium finishers walking away with North Queensland Games medallions and a spot on the pathway to the Queensland State Titles.

We love being part of events that bring our community together, and none of it would have been possible without the incredible volunteers and organisers who gave their time and energy from start to finish. Here is to Moranbah!

Reconciliation isn't something you watch from the sidelines. It's something you show up for.

As part of National Reconciliation Week, Civeo is proud to have supported the Street Banner Project, an initiative that celebrates culture, connection and shared understanding across our communities.

These banners are visible reminders of our respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their histories and their cultures, woven into the everyday spaces where we live.

Being “All In” means showing up in ways big and small. We remain committed to reconciliation and supporting initiatives that contribute to meaningful progress, together.

Boots hit the pavement, and hats tipped low: Nebo’s main street came alive for the annual Nebo Street Party, one of Australia’s largest and most iconic rodeos! 🤠

As one of the proud sponsors of the Nebo Street Party, Civeo kicked off the festivities in true country style. Families were at the heart of the celebration, with Civeo supporting free unlimited rides for the kids and face painting that kept the little ones smiling all day. The community came together over local favourites and shared excitement ahead of the rodeo, all while soaking up live music from a stellar line-up of top Australian artists, who called a Civeo village home for the weekend!

Thank you to the event organisers and staff who made it such a vibrant night, capturing the energy, spirit, and strong sense of community that make Nebo so special.

Behind every kilometre travelled is a person: someone's partner, parent, friend, or teammate. This National Road Safety Week, we pause to remember the 1,300 lives lost on Australian roads in 2025, and the communities forever impacted by road trauma.

For many Civeo residents and team members, covering long distances is simply part of the working life. That's why road safety isn't just a policy. It's something we carry with us on every journey, on and off-site.

On-site, that means wearing hi-vis PPE and keeping to speed limits, risk assessing journeys and traffic management plans, and adhering to ground rules that keep every person safe and accounted for. For those on drive-in, drive-out rosters or commuting between sites, remote and regional roads bring their own demands, and it's the extra awareness, route-planning and intentional rest stops that make all the difference.

Safety doesn't stop at the site gate. It travels with us every day.

Recently, our Brisbane team came together for a Lunch-and-Learn session with supplier diversity organisation Supply Nation, reinforcing why supplier diversity is an important part of how we do business at Civeo.

Led by Cassie McVey, Relationship Manager at Supply Nation, the session explored the role Indigenous businesses play in building stronger and more resilient supply chains. Our teams also gained practical insight into how our Supply Nation membership can be applied across different roles to engage with Indigenous businesses and create long-term value.

These conversations help build capability across Civeo, giving our people a clearer understanding of the positive impact of Indigenous supplier diversity. They also reflect our ongoing commitment to strengthening relationships with Indigenous businesses and supporting their participation within our supply chain.
