This issue with Google Drive is a good example of why the 3-2-1 method for storing your important files should be employed. That's 3 copies, on 2 different mediums, with 1 of those being offline, air-gapped, or locked in some way.

Whether you're using Apple, Google, Microsoft, AWS, or any other cloud storage, you should always have multiple copies to keep your business running when something like this occurs.

The missing file issue affecting Google Drive users is caused by the desktop app, Google has confirmed, and the company is investigating.
