One of my great mentors said it himself! When you serve too many focuses, you can't go deep in any one area as well as a company that has a single focus. AKA "a jack of all trades and master of none!"

At LANA we peak with hundreds of tradies monthly as they search for the most appropriate solution to manage their customer enquiries for their trade or construction business.

My advice for businesses looking for a solution is, like Alex Hormosi states. Choose a platform built for your niche. Too many solutions like Birdeye, Hubspot and Others serve multiple industries if not all and therefore lack the understanding of your industry.

Let's face it, a dentist or restaurant doesn't use ServiceM8 or Simpro to manage jobs for techs to complete jobs on site. They have a completely different customer journey and use completely different software called practice management software which enables dental records and other requirements for that vertical.

Therefore you need a CRM that suits your processes and integrates deeply with your existing ways. The benefits include

1 Your team don't need to change using the systems they already know

2 Using a solution built for your business means we speak your language and process already. Example SM8 job queue and badges
Or SIMPRO cost centres

3 Proper integration needs to be a 2 way data feed or your data and solution will be 100% guaranteed to be littered with duplicate data and incomplete and broken workflows
Before committing to a 12 month contract with a smooth sales rep ask them to prove the integration themselves on a live call and ask to commit to 1 month. If they back out it's a good chance they can't do it

4 Ensure that the platform has local support to deliver on their solution with proper implementation from their team. Otherwise you are likely going to end up lost with another paid subscription that doesn't work.

In closing, make sure you have done your homework on the CRM you commit to as it will be a key impact on your company process and profitability.
