Renters Rights legislation in the UK has been in place for 6 months. As expected, the number of challenges by tenants is growing. And the Tribunal has started publishing its decisions. The result is clear. Landlords which are able to use their own internal data to justify their rent increases are best placed to defend those decisions. And the best placed landlords are Build to Rent operators who effectively use their own data in the rent-setting process, not those who try to backwards engineer their calculations when the pressure is on.
