The Futura Remix Hackathon 2026 is coming to four states across Australia this September, bringing together ambitious students and recent graduates to learn, build, collaborate and pitch AI-powered solutions to real-world challenges.

Round 1 of the MentorME Futura Remix Hackathon 2026 started online, and its reach went much further. 🌏

The Global Skilled Talents Online Track brought together interest from across borders, backgrounds and professional communities.

Here are a few highlights we’re proud to share:

🌍 Approximately 50 applications from 7 countries: Canada 🇨🇦, Vietnam 🇻🇳, France 🇫🇷, USA 🇺🇸, China 🇨🇳, South Korea 🇰🇷, and India 🇮🇳.

🤝 5 university partners supporting the program: UEH University, Foreign Trade University, International University - VNU-HCM, Ho Chi Minh University of Banking, and Fulbright University Vietnam. They helped us extend the opportunity into more communities and connect with talent beyond MentorME’s own network.

But the real achievement isn’t just the numbers. Each application represented someone willing to put their experience to the test, work with people they may never have met before, and turn their skills into something visible through a real challenge. And that is exactly what this round was designed to create: more opportunities for global talent to build, collaborate and demonstrate capability through practical evidence. We’re proud of the reach this round achieved, but even more encouraged by the community forming around it.

3 days with 1 clear journey from understanding the problem to prototyping your solution.

If you’re wondering what actually happens at the MentorME Futura Remix Hackathon 2026 - Australia’s first national, multi-stage AI vibe-coding hackathon, here’s the format:

DAY 1: UNDERSTAND, CONNECT, and DEFINE
Meet your team, unpack the industry challenge, explore the problem brief, define roles and start shaping your idea. You’ll also meet mentors, industry guests, and other participants before Build Day begins.

DAY 2: BUILD, and TEST
This is where the idea starts becoming real. You’ll work through focused build sessions, develop your prototype, check your progress and scope with mentors, and start preparing how you’ll tell the story behind your solution.

DAY 3: REFINE, and SHOWCASE
Strengthen the final build, complete your pitch deck, then present your project in front of the judging panel. The day finishes with the Awards and State Winner announcement, and the National Finalist Briefing.

For international students and recent graduates, those 3 days give you something university learning alone can’t always provide: a practical project, teamwork under real constraints, feedback and a story you can take into your portfolio and future interviews.
Don’t worry too much. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out, because the format is designed to help you move through it step by step.

A hackathon may be built by participants, but it takes a lot of people behind the scenes to help those ideas move forward.

As Round 1 of the MentorME Futura Remix Hackathon 2026 - Global Skilled Talents Online Track comes to a close, we want to thank the mentors, judges and speakers who gave their time, experience and attention to our participants.

🤝 To our mentors: Ms. Phan Thanh Thao, Ms. Hanh Do, Mr. Long Nguyen, Mr. Phan An, and Mr. Nam Nguyen, thank you for stepping into the build process when teams needed another perspective. You challenged assumptions, asked teams to tighten their scope, worked through product and technical questions, strengthened business thinking and helped participants prepare to explain what they had built, not just simply polish the final slides.

⚖️ To our judges: Ms. Chloe Le, Mr. Peter Nguyen, Mr. Pop Trinh, Mr. David Nguyen, and Mr. Wilson Nguyen, thank you for taking the time to listen closely to every final pitch, question the decisions behind each solution and assess the work beyond surface-level presentation.

🎤 And to our Day 2 speakers and trainers, thank you: Coach Hien for opening an honest conversation around the less-visible realities of getting hired overseas, Mr. Tung Le for helping participants step inside the real business challenge, understand the context and ask better questions before building, and Mr. Peter Nguyen for bringing security, responsibility and technical ownership into the conversation through Zero Trust AI Engineering Discipline.

Those moments truly mattered. The right questions from a mentor can change a team’s direction. A judge’s challenge can make someone think more clearly about their work. A practical training session can give participants a framework they continue using long after the event ends.

Once again, thank you for helping make this round of the hackathon more thoughtful, practical and valuable for everyone involved. We’re grateful to have built this with you, and we hope this is only the beginning of what we can build together. 🧡

The teams have been building. Now it’s time to put that thinking under a little pressure.

Mentors are joining the teams in Round 1 of the MentorME Futura Remix Hackathon 2026 - Global Skilled Talents Online Track in focused sessions to challenge assumptions, ask the questions teams may have missed, and give practical feedback while there’s still time to improve the solution.

And the build doesn’t stop. Teams outside their mentoring slot keep working, then take the feedback back into their product before the final submission.
