Meet the team behind Moyai.

Elana Fernandes, Physiotherapist + Jess Combe, Exercise Physiologist.

We built Moyai because we saw a gap. Guests with accessibility needs are calling hotels and booking teams simply did not have the information they needed to answer confidently.

As allied health professionals we bring clinical precision and understanding to accessibility verification. We know what matters for a guest arriving with a wheelchair, sensory needs or requirements that are not always visible. And we know how to translate that into information your reservations team can use instantly.

Because when a guest can arrive knowing exactly what to expect, that is not just good accessibility. That is good hospitality!
It drives confidence, rebooking and the kind of five star experience that earns loyalty.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

That is what we build.

We would love to connect with hotels and motels who are ready to give every guest the warm welcome they deserve.

Australian hotels have accessible rooms.

A lot of them sit empty.

Not because guests do not want them. Because guests with accessibility needs cannot find the verified information they need to book with confidence.

So they call the property directly. Your team scrambles. The booking goes elsewhere.

On average, 3.2 people travel with every guest with accessibility needs.

That is not one lost booking. That is an entire travel party that chose somewhere else.

In 2024, travellers with accessibility needs spent $29.2 billion in Australia. That is 17% of total visitor spend.

Moyai verifies your accessibility information in person and puts it in the hands of your reservations team, ready for the next call.

Pilot now open for Sunshine Coast accommodation providers. Book a call at the link in bio.

When you meet a person living with disability the safest approach is to speak as you would to anyone else. A simple hello or a natural conversation shows more respect than a joke that might not be received the way you expect. Everyday language and genuine connection help people feel seen heard and considered.

Inclusive communication is a core part of customer experience. When guests feel respected the whole visit becomes smoother and more positive.

Moyai helps businesses assess the accessibility features they do have and communicate them clearly across the platforms they use. Clear information paired with respectful interactions supports a more inclusive experience!

Sliding doors can support access when they are smooth to open well maintained and kept clean. The small details matter. A change in surface height of more than two and a half centimetres is considered an obstacle for a walking aid or a wheelchair and it can also create a trip hazard. Recessed tracks are always preferable yet clear communication is just as important. When people know the exact features of a doorway they can decide if it works for them and plan their stay with confidence.

Person first language places the person before their disability. Disability first language places the disability before the person. Both are valid. Both are used within the disability community. The safest and most respectful approach is to ask the person what they prefer and then follow their lead.

This simple question can make a real difference during a booking or accessibility enquiry. When a guest feels seen and considered from the start the whole experience becomes more inclusive. Small moments like this build trust and support a smoother conversation about the features they need for a comfortable stay.

QR codes can be useful because they provide people time and space to make decisions in a way that feels comfortable. They also support guests who live with communication difficulties or social anxiety by removing the pressure of ordering while someone waits over them. They work best when the link is active the menu is current and the file is screen reader ready, and when the code is placed where everyone can reach it with ease.

When these simple details are considered QR codes become an inclusive tool that supports a smoother customer experience whilst checking in or during their stay.

Offering assistance is a simple act of courtesy yet the way it is done shapes the experience for the person receiving it. A polite offer is welcome. The important part is accepting the answer that follows. A respectful no is a complete response. When the answer is yes the safest approach is to ask how you can help so the person can guide you. This supports dignity comfort and safety and avoids the risks that come from guessing or assuming.

Inclusive customer experience is built on small moments of respect. When teams understand how to offer assistance well it helps every guest feel seen and supported.
