Another public service announcement!
Protect your Bank Details!

Today i heard from a customer in conveyancing. This customer had received banking details, via a hotmail web based email account, from her client to eft a payment into. It turns out that a webpage hijacker of some sort detected the contents of the email as it was sent and substituted an alternative bank account number into the email.
Needless to say, the payment went to a scammers bank account and police and the bank were contacted once the problem was realised.
This is a scary development in cyber crime, but you can protect yourself. Verify your bank details by phone or reverse email. Make sure you remove unwanted or needed web toolbars and addons from your web browsers.

If you dont know how, dont be afraid to contact us and request help.

As i like to say, the only stupid question is the one you dont ask.
