This year the exhibition is growing again, with more categories, a new venue, and the opportunity for all submitted images to be displayed across the weekend at Soldiers Point Bowling Club.

Opening night will be held on Friday 31st July at 6pm, with People’s Choice voting open across the weekend.

Australian Parliament House is seeking a new Artist-in-Residence, with applications open to artists at any stage of their career.

The successful artist will receive:
• $10,000 artist fee for the research stage
• Up to $30,000 commission fee for new work
• Up to $15,000 travel and accommodation allowance
• Access to a workspace within the Parliamentary Library

Local artist Anna Webster has beautifully captured the joy, colour and atmosphere of a perfect day by the water in this original oil on canvas, “A Day at the Beach”. Anna’s work is inspired by the natural beauty of Port Stephens and her distinctive style celebrates colour, composition and the essence of place. It is always a pleasure framing Anna’s Artworks.

Stephens Sister Cities, Stephens Council and Stephens Community Arts Centre are thrilled to officially launch "Wings Over Wetlands"—an art competition celebrating the breathtaking annual migration of shorebirds to our beautiful local wetlands. From the Bar-tailed Godwits to the Latham's Snipes, these incredible travelers connect our shores to the rest of the world. Now, we want to see them through your eyes!

Now that Christmas has passed, we finally get to share some of the truly special projects we created for our clients as gifts for their loved ones 🤍

This piece began as a small, vintage photograph of a grandfather standing outside Shoal Bay Country Club, surrounded by friends and family. The original image was yellowed with age, marked and crazed, and very small — but full of meaning.

Working locally with our resident digital technician and printer Cathy from CD Fine Art Prints, the photograph was scanned at 1200dpi, carefully restored back to a classic black and white, blemishes removed, and then re-imagined into a beautiful collage layout. Key details were thoughtfully highlighted — the grandfather himself, the Shoal Bay Country Club sign, and the architectural and landscape elements of the building — creating a piece that honours both the person and the place.

This is the kind of project our design team loves: taking something precious and helping it live on in a way that feels timeless, personal and deeply meaningful.

The final artwork was printed on 310gsm smooth cotton rag using archival pigment inks, producing a fade-resistant print designed to last 70–100 years. It was then framed in a simple black moulding and finished with UltraView reflection-controlled UV glass for protection and clarity.
