Worried about all the recent data breaches in the news? If you are using your email account password on other sites, the first thing a hacker try is to see if they can login to your email service with the password that was breached. Once they are in your emails, they will have access to reset passwords, and modify emails and attachments (e.g. invoices you may be sending from the account).
To check if any accounts associated with your email address have been breached, visit https://haveibeenpwned.com/ and check your email address. If anything turns up, change your email account password immediately and to something you don't use anywhere else.
Secondly, if you can, turn on two-factor (2FA) or multi-factor (MFA) authentication, so that you also need to authenticate with your phone/tablet to login.
Of course if you are concerned your account may have been hacked, let us know and we can help you out with next steps.
