Today marks the end of an era at Queensland Connectors and Cables. The “Gerry” era! Gerry George has decided to retire….
This announcement will be bittersweet for Gerry’s co-workers, customers and business colleagues. Gerry has been the heart and soul of QCC for close to 16 years. Gerry was also part of QCC right at the start when it was founded in 1987, so is by far the longest serving employee QCC has had. Gerry has been a key part of our growth over the last 10 years. We have grown from 6 employees to over 20, moved offices 3 times and had a 5x increase in turnover. During this growth, Gerry was the constant, the go-to person, the keeper of the history and values of QCC.
Gerry’s legacy will be felt at QCC for years to come as she has passed on her knowledge to other staff and we will continue doing things the “Gerry” way for quite some time as it works well for us.
We wish Gerry and her husband Ashley all the best in the future and their travels around Australia in their new motorhome. It will be a grand adventure and a well deserved break from 9 to 5 (probably reverse, 5 to 9, for Gerry!) working life for them both.
Gerry is currently on leave, and will be, right up to her official last day of Wednesday the 6th of December.
Thanks for everything Gerry. It won’t be the same without you!
"Retirement is wonderful. It’s doing nothing without worrying about getting caught at it.”
