The P.A. People are excited to be touring with ENTECH this May - Sydney starts tomorrow at the Horden Pavilion in Moore Park! Come and chat with us about all things Venue Engineering, check out some of our latest installs on the big screen, and take on the “World Famous at ENTECH” Moveket Game Challenge!

*Moveket Chain Hoists and Control*
For the first time at ENTECH, we will have on display will be a 2000kg version of the ProStage+ D8+ range of chain hoists, complementing the existing 250kg, 500kg and 1000kg models. We will also be showing integrated load monitoring capabilities and other unique features of these hoists, alongside the Moveket i-Motion variable speed BGV-C1 control system.

*TheatreQuip ProBar and ArchBar Lighting Bars*
The TheatreQuip range of lighting bars for production and installation have been very well received since their launch. Offered in both standard sizes and build to order versions, the ProBar and ArchBar offer a range of wiring and circuiting options along with support for Cat6 data and both 3 and 5 pin DMX outlets.

*TheatreQuip Drapes and Track systems*
TheatreQuip Series 18 Stage Drape Tracking System is designed for use in professional theatres, town halls, schools, entertainment centres and other performing arts venues requiring a heavy-duty and reliable drape tracking system. A wide range of accessories including diversion pulleys, mounting brackets, runners, master carriers and draw winch systems are available. TheatreQuip also supply an extensive range of sewn goods, fabricated in our specialist theatrical sewing room that forms part of our extensive Sydney facility and staffed by a team of some of Australia’s most capable drape seamstresses.

As part of a major refurbishment, - located inside Macquarie Centre - has undergone a significant upgrade to improve production capabilities, enhance the spectator experience, and future-proof the venue for next level sporting events.

To deliver the venue’s new rigging and sound infrastructure,  engaged The P.A. People to design and install a system tailored to the rink’s structural and operational requirements.

“When we were engaged by Macquarie Ice Rink to deliver the jumbotron style – 4 sided LED screen and PA system, there was only ever one choice for us” commented Greg Potter, Digital Screen Displays Managing Director. “Having worked with The P.A People for many decades we knew bringing them in would deliver an on time and on budget complete system. Their ability to turn a concept into a reality is second to none. This was a very complex design and engineering was very problematic, having The P.A People by our side, meant that we were able to pivot and still deliver on time when the client needed us to”.

𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗬𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗔𝗣𝗔

Over the past 18 months The P.A. People was asked to deliver a comprehensive package of stage machinery, rigging and curtain track systems across multiple venues at the new Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), part of Edith Cowan University. 
 
The project is unique in that it covered the fit out of five venues within a new inner-city campus - the Playhouse Theatre, Recital Hall, Flex Theatre, Playhouse Rehearsal Studio and Dance Theatre, with each space requiring systems aligned to its performance and teaching functions.

Most equipment was designed and manufactured by The P.A. People, allowing solutions to be customised to each venue while maintaining consistency in operation and safety. The result is a cohesive technical ecosystem designed to support professional-level production while enabling flexibility for training emerging performers and technicians.

We were excited to be a part of Stage Queensland once again last week, supporting the Technical Managers Conference as a Sponsor.

It was great to catch up with everybody there, plus our Chief Engineer Andrew Mathieson had the opportunity to present to the team on ‘Certification of Theatre Equipment – Why does it matter?’ then contribute to a Roundtable on the highly topical ‘Retrofitting new technology into existing venues’.
