A Black Dog opposite Port Painters Opposite the 4 Square on George Street stands the vibrant green facade of the Port Painters workshop. I believe it’s a car paint spaying business in a building with a wealthy history. I just love their chosen colours for this building. There are a lot of artists in Port Chalmers, hidden away, doing their thing behind historic walls and windows ,…. Painting, sculpting, writing ….and this little painting alludes to and pays tribute to these souls. There always feels like there is a storm rolling in from the hill behind it Port Painters, offering moody light and glowing patches to its brick textured wall. I am grateful for the subtle beauty in the ‘everyday’ it’s so nourishing

Her love and dedication to Hazel reminds me of my two beautiful daughters who are the best doggy mums in the world. Just like Olga.
