π¨ Banking Password Security Alertπ¨
A new security alert has been issued today affecting Australian bank customers.
Cybersecurity experts have confirmed that over 31,000 banking passwords β from Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, NAB, and Westpac customers β have been stolen by hackers and are circulating on the dark web.
This breach was NOT caused by the banks themselves but by malware infecting customers' devices (mostly Windows computers).
π If you bank online, please take these immediate actions:
1. Run a full malware and antivirus scan on your computer and devices.
2. Change your banking password to a strong minimum 14 characters.
3. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) if you haven't already.
4. Be alert for any suspicious banking activity and report anything unusual to your bank.
5. Spread the Word & help protect our community
This is a nationwide issue β it's vital to act even if you haven't noticed any problems yet.
Better safe than sorry!
Stay safe,
