WHO ARE WE AND WHY IS THE POSITION INTERESTING

Convergent Technologies has been for a long time one of the leading contributors to the Home Automation industry. As Australian distributors we grew world class brands such as Crestron and create a strong dealer base. We put Control4 on the market as the first distributor and created some spectacular projects with Lutron lighting control and shades for several years.

Today we are still an advanced Home Automation company and more focussed on the worlds leading motorised blinds and curtains. Our advanced control techniques and products place us at the forefront of technology and into many high end homes and businesses. This together with several other brands in other categories, makes for an interesting opportunity. Brands such as Lutron, Somfy, QMotion and more.

WE MIGHT BE LOOKING FOR YOU

Like other companies, we are looking for a highly motivated person with great communication skills and excellent work ethic. The role entails blind and curtain installation as well as manufacture and general maintenance. If you are a great handyman or perhaps a tradesperson who is looking for a change, this might be for you. You must be mechanically minded and good with power tools. We expect you to have a common sense approach to general installation as the training in hardware and software applications is all provided. A variety of work and travel around Melbourne will keep you busy and continually learning. It will be a bonus if you have any trade experience and better still, have had blind installation experience. We simply need someone who has the skills and treats our customers with the utmost respect.

A local driver’s license and good driving record is essential. Having a van is an advantage, but not essential.

Learn Our Skills On The Job

Our company manufactures high end motorised blinds and curtains as well as distributing a range of audio products and other building products.

We are looking for a person with good handyman skills and experience with power tools to learn blind and curtain installation as well as other associated tasks. A tradesperson is preferred, but as long as you can demonstrate great handy skills, not afraid of hard work on a job site and not afraid up a ladder, you could be our person.

Of course having a background in blind and curtain installation is an advantage, but not a forward requirement. We are happy to train from scratch if you have other skills mentioned.

While the position is described as casual, we hope you can become part of our team and help us grow together where you will become full time employed.

We are looking also for a good work ethic, warm and polite communication skills with our customers. A clean and neat work culture and most of all demonstrate an enthusiastic ability to work hard on your own.

Remuneration will start at $25 - $30 per hour depending on experience plus Superannuation.
