TAV Electric was started with a vision to empower the future of micro-mobility, making personal transport more innovative, accessible and practical for people everywhere.

That vision was born in Adelaide. Supported by Flinders University and Government of South Australia and built on the belief that Australian innovation and engineering excellence could power a product category that the world genuinely needs.

Australia has some of the most advanced research capabilities in clean technology, sustainable engineering and advanced manufacturing.

At TAV Electric, we are putting that to work by designing motors, developing rare-earth-free drive systems and building the next generation of personal electric mobility from the ground up.

This week, we were honoured to be invited to the Governor's reception at Government House South Australia, hosted by Her Excellency Frances Adamson AC alongside the Consul General of India, state ministers, members of parliament and leaders from the Australia-India business community.

Being in that room was a reminder of what Adelaide makes possible. A city that backs its innovators, invests in its researchers and believes in building things that last.

We are developing the future of Ebike motors!

Through our partnership with the University of New South Wales, our design and manufacturing team has completed production of the first set of test electric motors bound for testing at UNSW.

This new electric motor, designed by UNSW, utilizes optimized magnetic flux properties and precision components to enable more efficient power output while reducing the amount of rare earth components internally.

This motor would allow for greater cycling range and efficient energy management while delivering high performance and reliability for ebikes and other emobility applications.

Exciting progress on our collaboration with UNSW Sydney!

After months of design and simulation, we’ve entered the manufacturing phase — bringing the next generation of e-bike powertrain components to life.

Our joint goal is to develop the most efficient and power dense electric motor ever on a bicycle while using less magnets in the design. For you, this simply means longer range per charge, better power while making the entire package smaller and lighter in weight.

Real innovation happens when academic research meets real-world engineering.

We've been busy working on a GreenSpeed Recumbent Bike provided by Ray Trikes here at our HQ in Adelaide.

To fit our kit, we've had to create a few extra accessories to mount our display and battery onto the frame, as well as wire up our kit using a few extra cables.

Riding this feels great, and the power from the motor makes pedaling this so easy.
