Went to the first Code meetup😇

Somethings that I was specifically interested to try are;
- Claude Chrome

Also, I learnt that some SEs use Claude extensively. One of the BankWest Chief Engineers. When I spoke with him he said he has around 40 agents running in parellel 😱 and in average a SE uses AI ~4 hrs a day…

Also some of the show and tell sessions by few of the volunteers were interesting.

The fun part was the quiz and also congratualtions for winning a free ticket to SF Figma Conference🎉🎉🎉

Im looking forward to connecting with designers over a coffee to talk about design, AI and how you work with your challenges.

We presented about for AI and XR for 160+ students and how prototyping can help to;
1. Validate Business value/ Pricing
2. Improve the User-friendliness of the concept even before implementing
3. Be used as a marketing tool to convey ideas to investors
4. Be used as a risk-mitigation tool
5. Be used as a communication tool for developers.

Exploring the future of tech! ⭐

The BIT students from the University of Moratuwa visited for a day of career insights and readiness sessions hosted by , where they engaged in stimulating tech quizzes and activities, setting them on the path to a bright future 💜

It was a pleasure to participate in a panel discussion alongside Crishmi Costa, Anuj Bandara, Sanduni Opatha & Thamindu Wickramasinghe regarding different career roles, interesting projects, and how we started our careers.

💫 Some key learnings we discussed;
1. Importance of Soft skills and continuous learning as hashtag grows
2. Networking with professionals
3. Get feedback for your portfolio/CV before applying
4. See how you could expand your portfolio to not only academic projects

Crafting visual harmony: The importance of spacing in UI design

There are several benefits of following a grid system@for spacing

🌟Improves colaboration with developers
🌟 Enhance readability
🌟 Improves visual hierarchy

🔵 4-pt grid system means: 4 px, 8 px, 12px, 16px, 20px, 24 px, 28, 32px
🔵 8-pt grid system means: 8 px, 16 px, 24 px, 32 px, 40 px, etc

I got first introduced to Human-centered design thinking during the innovation challenge of Unicef’s bootcamp at Malaysia.

Being able to apply design thinking helps to take away assumptions and truly empathize and identify the problem by doing user interviews.

Most university degrees lack emphasis on design thinking and therefore to enable innovation and creativity within teams it is essential to share knowledge within colleagues as well.

Above are some images from a knowledge Sharing session on ‘Design thinking for Innovation through empathy and creativity’ done for R&D employees. We also did a mini ideation session to brainstorm ideas.

🔹 Understand what your users need, then deliver that information.
🔹 Remove distractions - Break the information to steps or progressively disclose information
🔹 Spice up long text - If you’ve got lots of information to convey, try using visuals instead of text.
🔹 Show progress bars
🔹 Use Shortcuts - Avoid adding any kind of friction to user actions, unless they’re meant to dissuade the action.
🔹 Use animations (motions/sound)
🔹 Use gamification and personalisation for engagement
🔹 Test and iterate your designs
