Dr YES (Youth Education Sessions) is an educational program established by the Australian Medical Association in Western Australia. Dr YES is a harm minimising program led by trained medical students who deliver workshops and interactive presentations to high school students throughout WA. The program aims to educate & empower young people to make informed decisions and healthy choices by incorpor
ating small group discussions, role play and multimedia to convey the main objectives of the Dr YES program:
- To educate youth in mental health, sexual health and alcohol and other drugs, enabling them to make informed and healthy choices.
- To improve access to primary health services by providing information relating to barriers, affordability, confidentiality and consent.
- To promote young people to access primary health care services in the community
