Many of you will know that we had to bring WATC forward this year as our son Lachlan was competing in Shanghai for WorldSkills in 3d Game Art at the time we normally host WATC.

We have spend the last week watching competitors from all over the world compete in 68 categories from so many different ‘trades’.

Lachlan competed against 16 other competitors from all over the world and they estimated approximately 600,000 visitors came through to watch the event (some people said all up, some said each day which are vastly different numbers from 600k to 2.4mil but it was A LOT of people!)

Closing ceremony last night and Lachlan walked away with silver for Australia and Best in Nation (which means he got the highest score of all the Aussie competitors).

Congrats Lachlan!

Who here is old enough or cool enough to remember heroes of might and magic? Lachlan is competing at WorldSkills and its focus for the event is creating assets for the remake! How cool is that!

What a venue this would make for Warhammer am I right?

We are thinking about holding a fundraising quiz night to help get Lachlan to Spain. Looking at a date in late October. Would you come to a Warhammer/gaming type quiz night?

Any thoughts?

It’s not just Loc-tite I’m bad with, regular ol’ supaglue is worse (although in my defence I think the tube had a hole in it and by the time I realised I was well and truly covered in it so may as well keep going!)
