Data Quality Asia Pacific Congress

Data Quality Asia Pacific Congress The Data Quality Asia Pacific Congress is one of the most prestigious and admired events on data quality and MDM.

DQ Asia Pacific has been running annually since 2005, and our focus is not just to have many attend, but on WHO is attending. We do this by bringing in expert speakers in data quality and MDM from around the world, to bring you up to date information on managing unstructured and complex data, master data management, effective data governance, new innovations and technologies and communicating abou

t data quality across your organisation. DQ Asia Pacific created the FIRST and most respected award for achievements in this space within our region with The Data Quality Asia Pacific Award (DQ APAC Award). The award recognises outstanding achievement in the field of data quality, celebrates the principles that define the discipline and highlights emerging trends within the field. Candidates are judged for the award on the basis of project innovation and a set of data quality principles developed by the International Association for Information and Data Quality (IAIDQ).

"It's not fair, why are we setting up our IT people for failure?"

When you’re talking about Information Management – who do you feel should heading it up?

It's like buying glass of wine at a restaurant.
You are buying the wine, or you're buying the glass? And the answer is, of course you're buying the wine. The glass is a delivery mechanism. You've got to have it. It's a symbiotic relationship without the glass. You go up to the bar and they pour it into your hands. That doesn't happen. So you get your wines served in a glass.
Now it might be a beautiful or ideal glass. So the infrastructure, the delivery infrastructure may be beautiful. But if the quality of the wine is poor, if the wine is vinegar, you're going to have a bad experience. So it's terribly important to differentiate between IT (Information Technology) and IM (Information Management).
So, if "IT" doesn't look after the data, information and knowledge...who should?
