Networking, surveillance and switching squeezed into a single box – TP-Link's new Fusion Gateway range is turning heads, and we got hands-on with the whole line-up.
In this video we walk through the brand new Omada Fusion series, TP-Link's all-in-one gateway, controller and NVR combo with a built-in switch. We start with the entry models, including a 1 gig version and the 2.5G Fusion Gateway, before looking ahead to the upcoming PoE variant and a full PoE model still to come. These compact units can support multiple cameras depending on scale, and an NVR can be plugged straight in for expanded storage.
We then move on to the Fusion Pro Max, arriving next year, which steps things up with 10 gig interfaces, dual hard drive bays, and the ability to link to another NVR — built to support around 100 cameras for larger deployments.
Finally we take a close look at the Fusion Pro Wi-Fi, which adds a microSD card slot for onboard storage, a mix of PoE and high-speed 10 gig WAN ports, plus additional 2.5 Gbit ports for a properly future-proofed small network setup.
If you're after a genuine all-in-one solution that merges your network gateway, video surveillance NVR and switch into one device, this is shaping up to be one of the most interesting releases from TP-Link's Omada range in a while.
