Twenty-five years.

Twenty-five years since Newcastle last felt this.

And somehow, over the past few weeks, this has become about so much more than footy.

It’s the red and blue appearing on houses, fences, shopfronts and businesses right across our city.

It’s the unbelievable number of jerseys being bought — and suddenly seeing them everywhere.

It’s walking through the shops, spotting another person in a Knights jersey and starting a conversation with a complete stranger, because right now there really are no strangers in Newcastle.

It’s kids wearing their colours with pride. Families decorating their homes. Businesses getting behind the team. Cars flying flags. People talking footy in checkout lines, workplaces, cafés and car parks.

It’s a whole community feeling connected by the same colours, the same hope and the same enormous sense of pride.

That’s Newcastle.

We are a town that backs our own. We celebrate together, we hurt together, and when something matters to this community, we show up for each other.

Tonight, our Mighty Newcastle Knights run onto the biggest stage — but before a ball is kicked, we want to say this:

We bleed red and blue… and apparently so does Phoenix HQ. ❤️💙

With the Knights heading to the GRAND FINAL, Michael felt our current level of support simply wasn’t adequate.

So Mrs Phoenix may have got a little carried away imagining what the office could look like this week… 😂

Before anyone drives past looking for it — NO, we haven’t actually done this.

But tell me it doesn’t look bloody magnificent?!

Although, Sally from The Creative Sign Studio consider this your warning. If the Knights bring it home next weekend, we may need to have a conversation. 😂

For now, the actual Phoenix HQ remains considerably more professional.
