𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀

Japanese - made 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗦𝗨-𝗭𝟲𝟱

We have completed a comprehensive service on the Technics SU-Z65 Integrated Amplifier.

The unit's function switches were intermittent, and the bass, treble, and balance controls exhibited scratchy operation, with a noticeable loss of left channel sound output.

As per the customer's request, we performed a thorough service and replaced all electrolytic capacitors, including the two main power supply filter capacitors.

A meticulous inspection for dry solder joints was conducted, and any issues found were rectified. All switches and pots were treated with contact cleaner.

Following the repair and 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴, the amplifier now operates flawlessly, with significantly improved performance and headroom.

𝗘𝗽𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗛-𝗧𝗪𝟵𝟰𝟬𝟬 𝟰𝗞 𝗣𝗥𝗢-𝗨𝗛𝗗 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿

(𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲) 𝗢𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻

On the bench today an Epson 4K Projector exhibiting one red vertical line on the screen, caused by a faulty LCD Optical Block Assembly.

Replacement of the faulty optical block assembly requires a thorough and comprehensive disassembly of the unit.

A new optical block has been installed, and all fans and main filters have been cleaned, thereby restoring the projector to optimal working condition.

Currently, we have a PS5 on the bench for HDMI port replacement due to damage.

𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀

𝗦𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗦𝗧𝗥-𝗞𝗠𝟳𝟲𝟬𝟬

Repair: Resolving 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 Mode Issue. A Sony Multi-Channel AV Receiver, model STR-KM7600, was presented with a fault where it would switch off shortly after operation and display 'Protect'.

Following thorough disassembly and fault diagnosis, a defective -7 volt regulator was identified as the primary cause for the amplifier's shutdown and protect mode activation.

Replacing the faulty regulator and performing a comprehensive service successfully restored the amplifier to perfect working condition.

𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀

𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗫𝟯𝟮 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗿

The unit, presenting with no power, underwent fault finding which revealed the main power supply board as the source of the problem.

Upon closer inspection after removal, a faulty capacitor in the primary stage of the power supply was identified as the root cause. Specifically, a 47uf capacitor had degraded to 28.8uf, causing the power supply failure.

Replacement with a new capacitor rectified the issue, restoring the mixer's operation.

𝗦𝘂𝗯𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀

𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗞𝗜𝗜

Rectification of 𝗕𝘂𝘇𝘇 & 𝗛𝘂𝗺 Noise Issue. A Sunfire subwoofer presenting with buzzing and humming noise issues is currently being serviced.

As capacitors age, they can experience leakage, tolerance drift, and capacitance value deviation, ultimately leading to faults such as power interruptions, popping, buzzing, and humming noises.

Replacement of multiple faulty capacitors in the power supply stage has successfully restored the subwoofer to optimal performance.

𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝗩𝟮𝟱𝟮

4 x DL15X 15” Woofers (𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗲)

Four EV DL15X woofers from EV T252 speakers are currently undergoing recone repair due to faulty voice coils.

The old cones and voice coils have been removed, the baskets thoroughly cleaned to remove old glue, and the voice coil magnet gaps cleaned.

New recone kits have been assembled and glued correctly, yielding perfect results.

Another PS5 console is being serviced for HDMI port replacement due to damage.

The repair has been successfully completed with the installation of a new HDMI port, thorough dust removal, fan cleaning, and APU Liquid Metal re-flow.

The customer expressed satisfaction with the same-day repair service provided.

𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀

𝗟𝗨𝗫𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗞-𝟭𝟭𝟯

On the bench today a 1981 Japanese manufactured Luxman Stereo Cassette Deck for refurbishment due to worn belts.

A comprehensive service was conducted, encompassing the replacement of all belts and thorough cleaning of all belt pulleys, capstan shaft, pinch roller, and audio heads. Additionally, a tape head demagnetiser was utilised, and all potentiometers and switches were treated with contact cleaner.

Consequently, the Cassette Deck’s performance has been restored to optimal level.

𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀

𝗤𝗦𝗖 𝗞𝟭𝟬.𝟮

𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗘𝗗𝘀 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗽𝘂𝘁

Two QSC K10.2 powered speakers exhibiting identical faults were examined, featuring illuminated green signal LEDs without sound output.

Diagnostic analysis revealed a malfunctioning power supply stage due to four faulty SMD components: shorted diodes D36 and D20, a shorted transistor Q16, and open circuit fuse F1 located in the +15volt supply stage.

Replacement of these components restored both speakers to optimal operation.
