Bookshelves or floorstanders? 🔊

It’s one of the most common questions we get in store, and the honest answer is: it depends! Here’s what to think about before you decide:

📏 Room size. Bookshelves suit smaller spaces, while floorstanders reward a bit more room.

🎶 Sound. Floorstanders bring scale and effortless bass. Bookshelves deliver focus and precision, especially with a well-matched sub. (3-way designs like the Wharfedale Super Denton are a sweet middle ground.)

🔧 Flexibility. Bookshelves are easy to reposition and upgrade over time. Floorstanders are a simpler, full-range setup.

🛋️ Listening habits. Intimate listening or big albums and films? Your habits matter.

There’s no universal winner. The best speaker is the one that suits your space, your system and the way you listen most, and an in-person demo is always the best way to find it.

Last time, we unboxed them, now they are installed 📦➡️🔊

The Bowers & Wilkins 804 D5s are now installed, positioned and ready to be run in. That Continuum cone midrange looks as good in the room as it did coming out of the box, and now it sounds the part too.

Paired with Marantz electronics and a full home cinema setup, this one’s built for everything from late-night listening to big movie nights.

Unboxing is the easy part. Placement, speaker run in time and system matching are what make a pair of speakers sing. That’s where we come in. 🎶
