What a wonderful way to celebrate 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸!

It was great to have so many of our adult Learners come together to acknowledge and celebrate their learning achievements.

Adult learning can enrich our lives, whether it's gaining new skills, pursuing passions, or connecting with others.

A special thank you to our local State MP Kathleen Matthews-Ward and Merri-bek City Councillors Helen Politis and Jay Iwasaki for attending and celebrating with us.

With this Men’s Shed Week a special one at GNH as we celebrate the Grand Opening of the new shed space, we’ll celebrate the stories behind those contributions and shine a light on the impact Men’s Sheds have in communities across the country. Because every Shed is Built on Purpose.

Indigenous Literacy Day (ILD) is a national celebration of First Nations peoples’ stories, cultures and languages created by the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

𝗞𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘁 (𝗧𝗮𝗱𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗲) 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 - 𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 & 𝙊𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙧

The First Peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation, including the Traditional Owners of this land, the Wurundjeri woiwurrung people, measure change with an annual cycle of seasons marked by changes in the land, animals, water and sky.

On this land there are seven annual seasons while two non-annual seasons, fire and flood, occur on average, every seven and 28 years.

Today marks the start of the 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘁 when rain continues but the weather becomes warmer. Flax lilies begin flowering. Murnong (yam daisies) are ready for harvesting and the day and night are equally long.
