For the past months, I went on and talked about how having a website can greatly help your business. 🏪🏷️

Admittedly, this pandemic has struck us one way or another. A lot of businesses closed down and those who managed to survive can barely make ends meet except from essential industries.

Starting a business in this day and age can be very scary. But don’t be afraid. Small businesses support each other.

Here are the things you have to keep in mind when setting up your own:

Get a domain name. Before getting started, make sure you have chosen a domain name. It is best if it's your business’ name or something close to help people easily remember you but you’re free to be creative.

Choose a design based on your business that speaks about you and your business.

Add your info. In this step, you have the chance to change and update your information, upload a logo, change the colors and background and rearrange the page elements that includes Headings, Images and Links.

Create and add contents. After getting everything set up, you are now ready to do the actual work. In creating your content and copies, you may either have somebody do it for you or prepare it yourself. Either way, you must make sure that it is customised to your brand.

Promote and maintain. Once you have everything set up, it is time to promote it so people would know where to find you. But it does not end there. It is very important to maintain your website to make sure that visitors won’t get any error messages.

Go for whatever works for you. If you have more than enough time to learn WordPress, by all means do so. There’s nothing more fulfilling than knowing the ins and outs of your business. At the end of the day, all we want is to put our business out there and bring people in. 🏪

But, is it really that easy? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Yes and No.

Yes, for managed hosting wherein you pay someone else to maintain and secure your website. And No, if you prefer to do it yourself. But with all DIY projects, you need to spend a lot of your personal time to learn the technical stuff.. The question is, do you have the time?
