Accountability doesn’t disappear when home care services are outsourced.

Under the Support at Home framework, relying on subcontractors, allied health partners, and maintenance vendors no longer means "out of sight, out of mind." Even when delivery is external, the primary provider retains full responsibility for compliance, governance, and participant safety.

The INVOX National Support at Home Conference has come to a close today. It was wonderful to meet so many of you at our booth to discuss the evolving landscape of home care.

A major highlight of the week was the news that the government will now fund essential personal care services at home, such as showering and incontinence care. This is a significant step in the right direction. It helps to remove the financial strain of fundamental daily requirements that should be accessible to all older Australians. By addressing these costs, the government is making it easier for people to receive the support they need to stay in their own homes comfortably.

It’s been a massive six months for the home care sector as we all navigate the new changes.

We’re heading down to Melbourne next week for the INVOX Support at Home National Conference at Marvel Stadium. It’s a great chance to step back from the day-to-day and take stock of the rollout so far.

We're looking forward to catching up with other providers and exhibitors to swap notes on the practical side of the new system: discussing what’s actually working on the ground and how we’re keeping quality care at the centre of it all.
