Full Stack Developer

Job Description

At XTS, we rely on a dynamic team of engineers to solve the many challenges and puzzles of our rapidly evolving technical stack. We’re seeking a full stack developer who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries. This person will have complete, end-to-end ownership of projects. The ideal candidate has experience building products across the stack and a firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back-end languages. The full stack developer will join a small team that uses new technology to solve challenges for both the front-end and back-end architecture, ultimately delivering amazing experiences for global users.

Objectives of this role

• Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.
• Develop new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements.
• Assume leadership of new projects, from conceptualization to deployment
• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, and maintain high standards for code quality and application design.
• Work with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
• Architect and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale.
• Work primarily in Ruby, Java/JRuby, React, and JavaScript
• Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading back-end engineers to create reliable APIs
• Collaborate across time zones via Slack, GitHub comments, documents, and frequent videoconferences.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in building large-scale software applications.
• Experience in building web applications
• Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of Ruby, Java/JRuby, React, and JavaScript
• Excellent debugging and optimization skills
• Experience in unit/integration testing

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or engineering
• Interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies
• Professional certification

The individual will also own the design of visual assets for marketing of the product across touch points.

We are looking for a driven, talented, and experienced graphic designer to join our team, someone who is comfortable with all elements of ideation, graphic and visual design, and branding. In addition to strong graphic design skills, the candidate must have strong strategic and systems thinking, organizational skills, experience working on a design team, and acute attention to detail. They must have good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to present and defend their design decisions to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and strengthen brand assets including style and brand guidelines
· Deliver high-quality, on-brand graphics to support a superior customer experience.
· Maintain a set of design best practices and guidelines to reduce and minimize production efforts
· Produce creative assets including graphics, templates, and layouts and visual standards for marketing activities across multiple channels. These include web, social media, events, email campaigns, and other activations.
· Quality control to ensure accuracy and a high creative bar.
· Present work to team and key stakeholders for review, feedback, and approval.
· Digital platform design experience and understanding for cross platform design guidelines.

Basic Qualifications

· 2+ years of industry experience in graphics and visual design.
· Bachelor's degree in design/relevant disciplines or equivalent work experience.
· Proficiency with full Adobe creative suite
· Extensive knowledge of Graphic Design, Print Design/Layout, Web Design and Development, with experience in design/development for both mobile and desktop applications.
· Ability to drive the design process by independently defining requirements, scoping projects and prioritizing tasks.
· Demonstrated strong visual design expertise with ability to produce fresh, simple, elegant and exceedingly usable layouts and interactions and iconography.

Preferred Qualifications

· Previous work in marketing with multi-touch point design
· Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
· High proficiency in design and prototype tools and command of technologies (web, Android, iOS, etc.).
