Microsoft Copilot does not automatically create productivity.
It is easy to give people access, show them how to summarise a meeting or draft an email, and assume the investment is working.
But those small conveniences are rarely enough to justify the cost on their own.
The real value comes from identifying where time is consistently being lost:
Recreating the same reports.
-Searching across emails, documents and meetings for information.
-Writing up notes that already exist somewhere else.
-Moving information between systems.
-Repeating administrative work across an entire team.
That is where Copilot can start producing a measurable return, but only when the business is deliberate about where and how it is used.
The question should not be:
“Are our staff using Copilot?”
It should be:
“Which work is now taking less time, creating fewer errors or no longer needs to be done manually?”
