Bespoke Saber #1

The client’s brief was a saber that felt like it belonged to a Mandalorian, with an ancient, weathered appearance. He also wanted the saber to feature a blade that could be used even when the saber was turned off.

Through back-and-forth collaboration, we refined the concept. He requested a decorative element inspired by Mando’s whistling birds, integrated symmetrically on either side of the grip, along with a light-up gem detail. He also wanted the Mythosaur logo incorporated into the pommel.

It’s easy for details like these to come across as tacky, but by keeping the design simple and integrating the elements practically, they feel cohesive and authentic.

The saber is installed with proffie 2.2

I’m open to commissions now for $2000 AUD — shoot me a message if you’re interested.

Here’s a tease of a project I’ve been working on for quite a while now.

An accurate version of The Clone Wars Darksaber, as wielded by Pre Vizsla and Darth Maul in the series.

I’ve always preferred this version of the Darksaber over the live-action variant. It’s also something nobody has ever truly replicated properly — and now I understand why. It’s an absolute nightmare to engineer: balancing accuracy, comfort, installability, structural integrity & it’s rectangular shape

That said, I can confidently say I’ve almost figured it out… and it feels fantastic in the hand.

I wanted to share a bit of my design process and how this piece evolved.

This design began in July 2023 as a DIY lightsaber, built from scraps around the house. The original goal was to create a hilt that felt at home in the Jedi game universe.

In late 2024, I revisited the concept and began refining it in CAD, pushing the design closer to the aesthetic of Orgus Din’s lightsaber. With a big shroud over a thin neck design.

From there, I developed a narrative to guide the final form: a Jedi who leaves the Order and becomes the protector of a small village on a distant planet. That story led to the title “Quiet Sentinel.”

The intention was to create something pristine and elegant, yet grounded—featuring a rural touch through the white twine grip wrap—while still feeling capable and ready for battle if needed.

The color and material choices were driven by the character’s “Grey Jedi” nature, with additional inspiration drawn from my vintage Rolex Datejust. Like the watch, I wanted the saber to feel durable, functional, and beautiful—qualities that ultimately define this design.

Finished detailing 1 of 10 “Quiet Sentinel” sabers

Turned out amazing, very satisfying seeing it in it’s final form

Obsessed with how the stainless steel shroud looks against the aluminium body

Now gotta do it 9 more times

Hi all,

Over the last year I’ve been working on my own lightsaber design, focusing on premium finishing and high quality machined parts.

This isn’t a mass-produced product. Every part has been designed from scratch, machined in small quantities, and refined through prototypes. The focus has been on proportion, machining quality, and how the saber feels in the hand and on display.

I’m preparing a very limited first production run (10 units). All sabers will be fully installed, built to a high standard, and released in the near future.

This page will document the process, the design decisions, and the launch of that first run.

If you care about design, craft, and doing things properly — you’re in the right place. Stay tuned :)
