I wanted to share a bit of my design process and how this piece evolved.
This design began in July 2023 as a DIY lightsaber, built from scraps around the house. The original goal was to create a hilt that felt at home in the Jedi game universe.
In late 2024, I revisited the concept and began refining it in CAD, pushing the design closer to the aesthetic of Orgus Din’s lightsaber. With a big shroud over a thin neck design.
From there, I developed a narrative to guide the final form: a Jedi who leaves the Order and becomes the protector of a small village on a distant planet. That story led to the title “Quiet Sentinel.”
The intention was to create something pristine and elegant, yet grounded—featuring a rural touch through the white twine grip wrap—while still feeling capable and ready for battle if needed.
The color and material choices were driven by the character’s “Grey Jedi” nature, with additional inspiration drawn from my vintage Rolex Datejust. Like the watch, I wanted the saber to feel durable, functional, and beautiful—qualities that ultimately define this design.
