The best marketing advice is advice you can actually put into action.

We recently helped Gil with marketing recommendations for his online spice blend business, and it was great to hear that the ideas were not only useful, but also immediately actionable for his web designer.

Thanks for the kind words, Gil. We’re glad we could provide practical direction to help move the business forward.

SEO can feel complicated, especially when it’s not clear what your agency is actually working on.

🏛️ We like to simplify SEO into four core pillars:

1. Technical SEO, making sure Google can crawl, index and understand your website

2. Content, creating useful, relevant information around what your audience is searching for

3. On-site SEO, improving elements like headings, page titles, internal links and schema

4. Off-site SEO, building authority through backlinks, local profiles and other trust signals

👉 The important part? Strong SEO rarely comes from focusing on just one.

A technically perfect website still needs relevant content. Great content still needs authority. And attracting organic traffic only matters if your website gives visitors a good experience once they arrive.

If you’re investing in SEO, understanding these foundations will also help you ask better questions and know where your efforts should be focused. Read our blog to learn more: https://sgd.com.au/four-pillars-seo/

Learn the 4 pillars of SEO and how they work together to improve rankings, traffic and long term visibility.

One of the ways we improve consistency at SGD is by systemising the way we deliver our SEO services.

Clear processes help ensure every client receives the same high standard of work, regardless of who is delivering it.

As we've documented our internal workflows, we've started creating visual guides for many of our SEO processes. Rather than keeping them to ourselves, we thought we'd share some with you.

This graphic walks through our backlink gap analysis process, a simple but effective way to identify backlink opportunities by comparing your website with your competitors.

If you're working on your own SEO, it's a practical exercise that can help uncover opportunities to strengthen your website's authority and improve your search visibility.

We hope you find it useful.

Most websites do not underperform because of poor design. They underperform because the content does not give visitors a reason to trust you or take the next step.

A good website does more than explain what you do. It should answer four key questions:

• Is this business right for me?
• Do they understand my problem?
• Can I trust them?
• What should I do next?

When your content answers these clearly, your website becomes much more effective at turning visitors into enquiries.

We've published a practical guide on how to plan and prepare website content that supports conversions, before your website project even begins.

If you're planning a new website or a major redesign, this guide is worth a read: https://sgd.com.au/website-content-guide/

Managing multiple venue websites can quickly become difficult to maintain.

Dedes Waterfront Group needed a better way to manage the digital presence of seven premium venues without the complexity of updating separate websites.

We implemented a WordPress Multisite platform that allows their team to manage all venues from a single backend, while maintaining the unique branding and identity of each location.

The result:
• Consistent branding across all venues
• Faster and simpler content updates
• A scalable platform ready for future growth

As their Marketing Coordinator, Issy Storr, shared:
"Great to deal with and super helpful."

One of the biggest conversion mistakes we see is sending visitors to generic landing pages.

If someone searches for a specific service, they should land on a page that speaks directly to that service.

That is exactly what we helped Premier Education achieve.

By combining targeted landing pages, clear calls to action, educational content, and a simple enquiry process, they achieved:

• 100%+ growth in organic traffic
• 6x increase in search visibility
• 37% increase in conversions

The lesson is simple.

The closer the match between what someone searches for and what they land on, the more likely they are to enquire.

This video walks through the project and the strategy behind it: https://sgd.com.au/why-generic-landing-pages-dont-convert/

From Premium Showroom Experience to Premium Digital Experience: The Windo Project

Windo is a Melbourne-based provider of premium window furnishings, helping homeowners, architects, and interior designers create beautiful spaces with high-quality Australian-made blinds, curtains, shutters, awnings, and motorised solutions.

Their website needed to reflect that same level of quality and professionalism.

When Windo approached us, the goal was not just a visual refresh. They needed a modern website that showcased their expertise, strengthened their Luxaflex partnership, improved visibility in Melbourne search results, and supported more showroom visits and enquiries.

We worked closely with the Windo team to redesign the website, manage the migration to windo.com.au, and create a scalable SEO foundation for future growth.

The result is a premium digital experience that aligns with their brand, supports long-term search visibility, and makes it easier for potential customers to take the next step.

This short video provides an overview of the project and the outcomes achieved through the redesign.

People rarely buy after seeing one piece of content.
Trust is built through repeated exposure over time.

The 7-11-4 framework suggests buyers need multiple touch points across different channels before they are ready to make a decision.

That is why helpful content matters.

Not because it goes viral, but because it answers questions, builds familiarity, and positions your business as a trusted option when the timing is right.

A simple place to start:
Take the top questions your customers ask and turn them into blogs, short videos, or FAQs.

We’ve just published a new blog explaining how the 7-11-4 framework works and how businesses can apply it to their marketing. Read it here: https://sgd.com.au/7-11-4-marketing/

The 7-11-4 framework is a marketing concept that says it takes 7 hours of content, across 11 touch points, in 4 different channels for someone to make a

One of the most rewarding parts of working on events is helping create an experience that works well for both organisers and attendees.

We partnered on the Down To Earth conference, supporting the branding, copy, and digital communications for the event.

Feedback like this means a lot:

“Massively helpful advice and suggestions to optimise the experience for both participants and presenters.”

A great event brand is not just about visuals. It is about creating clarity, trust, and a smoother experience from the first interaction through to the event itself.

Thanks again to the team for trusting SGD with the project. We’re looking forward to future collaborations.
