It is with great pleasure we announce our merger with RM Cloud, as Rob McLaren joins Andrew Waldron as a director of Built On IT. This strategic merger will expand Built On IT’s capabilities in cybersecurity, voice services, cloud computing and other emerging technologies.

Built On IT and RM Cloud have seamlessly worked across shared client accounts to deliver results for over 5 years. This has prompted a natural decision to join forces in order to provide an extended offering to our clients.

Rob McLaren brings to the team a wealth of knowledge, having worked with various organisations over the past 16 years ranging in size from small business to large enterprise. In that time, Rob has provided a range of services, from general consulting to full-scale system architecture and implementation.

Beware of the latest Cryptolocker virus. It came in as an email from Telstra and got through 3 levels of enterprise AV protection. Resulted in 120,000 local and network files encrypted. Everything restored from backups with minimal data loss.

Be careful what you click and make sure your backups are working!

Customer called, their PC has died. Normally no big deal except this customer thought it was more secure to store all the company data on their local hard drive and not their server. The hard drive was 9 years old and not spinning up. They got very lucky as we had a similar drive in a box of old spares. We replaced the PCB, ran some data recovery software and recovered ALL their data. Let this be a lesson, backup your data!
