🔒 A quick security update for our StationOne community

You may have seen recent news about PHP2Shell, a security issue affecting websites and services that use PHP.

StationOne does not use PHP in our platform or on our servers, so these PHP vulnerabilities do not affect our platform.

You can continue using StationOne as usual. No action is needed from you in relation to this issue.

Your gear shouldn’t need you to prove it’s there...

We’ve just released NFC and QR tag registration in StationOne, and custom StationOne combined NFC + QR tags for equipment and asset tracking are coming soon.

They’re a solid step forward, but we don’t think they’re the end game.

Here’s why:
📍 QR codes peel, scratch, get dirty and stop scanning
📍 NFC needs a compatible phone and someone physically tapping the item
📍 Both depend on a person remembering to do it, every time

So we’re thinking bigger. 💡

What if your gear could quietly tell you where it is, without anyone scanning anything?

Imagine knowing:
✅ Where every item is right now
✅ A full location history, including how many times it’s left a vehicle
✅ Real usage data, not just maintenance records
✅ That the defib, chainsaw or BA set is actually on the truck before you roll out

No extra admin. No tapping. No “I think it’s in the shed.”

🚒 StationOne v0.38.0 | Crew Builder just got more flexible!

When we released Crew Builder a few weeks ago, the goal was to make it easier for Groups, Districts, and Regions to coordinate deployments across their units.

But you told us you wanted more.

Brigades and units asked for the ability to plan and manage crews for all sorts of operational needs, not just deployments. Standby, standup days, fire ban days, storm events, and everything in between.

We listened. 👨‍🚒

With StationOne v0.38.0, Crew Builder can now be used to plan and manage crews for the situations your brigade faces every day.

🚒 A new StationOne release is here!

This release brings a range of new features and improvements, all focused on helping emergency services manage their equipment, people, and operations.

A few highlights from this release:

🔧 Equipment Loaning
Keep track of equipment loaned to members, other units, or external parties. With pre-loan and return inspections, loan status tracking, and automatic out-of-service handling, it’s easier to maintain visibility of equipment wherever it goes.

📍 Incident Management
We’re introducing a new Incidents feature to help organisations coordinate people, vehicles, and equipment during an incident. Teams can allocate resources, track their locations on a map, and maintain a permanent record of who and what was involved.

(This feature is being rolled out progressively and may not be available to every organisation just yet.)

🎓 Training Sessions
Users with the appropriate permissions can now create and manage training sessions directly through the native app’s admin interface.

📝 Inspection Improvements
We’ve also added duty crew response options to inspections, allowing users to select a duty crew and update attendance records as part of the inspection process.

Alongside these features, we’ve made a range of improvements to reporting, vehicle and equipment visibility, and the overall user experience.

Every release is another opportunity to make StationOne more useful in the day-to-day work of emergency services, and we’re grateful to the organisations and volunteers who continue to share their feedback and help shape what we build.

Built for the moments when volunteers need to come together. 🚒

One of the things we love about working with emergency services is understanding how much coordination goes on behind the scenes when a crew needs to mobilise.

Who is available? Which vehicles are needed? Who is going where, and is everyone ready to deploy?

That's why we're excited to introduce Crew Builder, a new feature in StationOne designed to help organisations coordinate vehicles, crews and deployments.

Whether you're organising a strike team, coordinating resources for an incident, or preparing a crew for a shift, Crew Builder helps bring the people and resources together in one place.

You can create deployments, assign vehicles and crew, review and approve crew allocations, and move deployments through their different stages, from planning to active deployment and completion.

We've also built the feature to support the different ways emergency services organisations operate, because we know that a deployment for one organisation may look very different from another.

For us, this is another step towards building software that volunteers and emergency services personnel actually want to use.

Technology that supports coordination, reduces administrative overhead, and helps people focus on what matters most: being ready to serve their communities.

We're looking forward to seeing how organisations across the StationOne community put Crew Builder to work.

🚨 StationOne is now live on the App Store and Google Play.

Volunteers don't join emergency services to do paperwork — they join to respond. Our new native mobile app is built around that reality.

With the StationOne app, crews can now:

✅ Complete vehicle, equipment and kit inspections offline — no signal, no problem. Everything syncs the moment you're back in range.
✅ Manage hoses, ropes and BA checks from the truck bay, not a desktop.

It's always great to see brigades making StationOne their own. 🚒

Hastings Fire Brigade have done an awesome job of taking full advantage of some of the features available in StationOne to support their members and strengthen their equipment readiness.

The team have invested significant time configuring StationOne around the way their brigade operates, particularly when it comes to equipment inspections.

One of the things they've done really well is using the StationOne Library to document important operational information about specific pieces of equipment, and then linking that information directly with their inspections.

This means members can not only inspect a piece of equipment, but access the information they need to understand what it is, where it belongs, how it should be operated and what they need to know about it.

That's particularly valuable for newer members learning their way around an appliance and building confidence with equipment identification, stowage and operation.

It's a great example of volunteers taking technology and adapting it to support the way their brigade operates.

This is exactly why we build StationOne the way we do.

It's not just about recording that something has been inspected. It's about helping volunteers build capability, supporting the next generation of members and making sure the equipment they rely on is ready when their community needs it.

StationOne + Xero — bringing the right tools together 🤝

We're excited to announce the first of our third-party integrations for StationOne: a two-way integration with Xero that synchronises your asset register between the two platforms.

We've always believed that different tools are built for different purposes.

Xero is a market leader in accounting and financial management. StationOne is built specifically around the operational side of emergency services; testing, inspecting, auditing and managing the compliance of assets, equipment and vehicles.

We don't believe your accounting platform should have to become your asset management platform, or that your asset management platform should try to become your accounting system.

Instead, we've built an integration that lets each platform do what it does best, while keeping your asset register synchronised between them.

For us, this is another example of how we're approaching StationOne: building technology that fits into the way organisations already work, rather than asking them to replace everything they've already invested in.

We're really excited about what this opens up for StationOne, and this is just the beginning of our integration journey.

Congratulations to Bonogin Valley Rural Fire Brigade on the delivery of your new Heavy Attack appliance! 🚒👏

Bonogin Valley were one of the first Queensland Rural Fire Service brigades to get behind our Santa Squad Christmas app, and the very first Queensland brigade to come on board with StationOne.

It's fantastic to see Bonogin Valley 61 already added to StationOne, complete with a fresh inspection template ready for its new role.

One of the things we love about working with brigades across Australia is seeing how differently each organisation operates. Different appliances, different equipment, different requirements and different communities; but the same commitment to being ready to serve.

That's why we've always believed StationOne needs to be adaptable. Whether you're a Victorian CFA brigade, a Queensland Rural Fire Service brigade, or another emergency services organisation, the platform should work around the way you operate.
