It's always great to see brigades making StationOne their own. 🚒

Hastings Fire Brigade have done an awesome job of taking full advantage of some of the features available in StationOne to support their members and strengthen their equipment readiness.

The team have invested significant time configuring StationOne around the way their brigade operates, particularly when it comes to equipment inspections.

One of the things they've done really well is using the StationOne Library to document important operational information about specific pieces of equipment, and then linking that information directly with their inspections.

This means members can not only inspect a piece of equipment, but access the information they need to understand what it is, where it belongs, how it should be operated and what they need to know about it.

That's particularly valuable for newer members learning their way around an appliance and building confidence with equipment identification, stowage and operation.

It's a great example of volunteers taking technology and adapting it to support the way their brigade operates.

This is exactly why we build StationOne the way we do.

It's not just about recording that something has been inspected. It's about helping volunteers build capability, supporting the next generation of members and making sure the equipment they rely on is ready when their community needs it.

StationOne + Xero — bringing the right tools together 🤝

We're excited to announce the first of our third-party integrations for StationOne: a two-way integration with Xero that synchronises your asset register between the two platforms.

We've always believed that different tools are built for different purposes.

Xero is a market leader in accounting and financial management. StationOne is built specifically around the operational side of emergency services; testing, inspecting, auditing and managing the compliance of assets, equipment and vehicles.

We don't believe your accounting platform should have to become your asset management platform, or that your asset management platform should try to become your accounting system.

Instead, we've built an integration that lets each platform do what it does best, while keeping your asset register synchronised between them.

For us, this is another example of how we're approaching StationOne: building technology that fits into the way organisations already work, rather than asking them to replace everything they've already invested in.

We're really excited about what this opens up for StationOne, and this is just the beginning of our integration journey.

A big thank you to the brigades and organisations who continue to give us feedback and help shape where StationOne goes next.

Congratulations to Bonogin Valley Rural Fire Brigade on the delivery of your new Heavy Attack appliance! 🚒👏

Bonogin Valley were one of the first Queensland Rural Fire Service brigades to get behind our Santa Squad Christmas app, and the very first Queensland brigade to come on board with StationOne.

It's fantastic to see Bonogin Valley 61 already added to StationOne, complete with a fresh inspection template ready for its new role.

One of the things we love about working with brigades across Australia is seeing how differently each organisation operates. Different appliances, different equipment, different requirements and different communities; but the same commitment to being ready to serve.

That's why we've always believed StationOne needs to be adaptable. Whether you're a Victorian CFA brigade, a Queensland Rural Fire Service brigade, or another emergency services organisation, the platform should work around the way you operate.

Congratulations again to the team at Bonogin Valley. We hope Bonogin Valley 61 serves your community for many years to come, and we're proud to have been part of the journey from Santa Squad to StationOne. 🚒

One of the most rewarding parts of building StationOne is seeing the incredible work volunteers are doing to strengthen their brigades.

Recently, Bayswater Fire Brigade-CFA shared their journey of improving their brigade's digital preparedness.

It all started with a $2,500 grant from their local council to begin moving away from paper-based processes. As their project evolved and they embraced StationOne, they secured a second $2,500 grant to expand their digital capability, purchasing additional iPads for operational use and installing a StationOne check-in kiosk at the brigade.

The project wasn't just about replacing paper. It was about ensuring members have the information they need, where they need it, improving day-to-day operations and building a brigade that's better prepared for the future.

We love stories like this because they show what's possible when volunteers identify a challenge, secure funding, and drive meaningful change within their brigade.

Congratulations to everyone involved. Thank you for allowing StationOne to be part of your journey, and for demonstrating how innovation can strengthen volunteer emergency services for years to come. 👏🚒

One thing we've learnt is that every brigade has a different way of doing things, but they're all trying to solve the same problems...

How do we save our members time?
How do we make it easier for the next volunteer?
How do we spend less time on paperwork and more time serving our community?

Technology is becoming a bigger part of answering those questions. New tools are appearing all the time, and that's genuinely exciting. More ideas and more innovation can only be good for emergency services.

But after years of working alongside volunteers, we've also learnt something else.

The software itself is only part of the solution. The people behind it matter just as much.

We've found the best software isn't the software with the longest feature list—it's the software that volunteers actually want to use.

Software that saves time instead of creating more work.

Software that fits into brigade life instead of asking brigades to change how they operate.

Software that's shaped by the people using it, not just the people building it.

That's the philosophy we've always tried to bring to StationOne, software built by volunteers, for volunteers - tackling the challenges we all share.

StationOne is built by volunteers, for volunteers and one of the best parts of what we do is meeting fellow volunteers 🧑‍🚒

Over the past few months we’ve been fortunate to visit and connect with emergency services volunteers across Victoria, from Gippsland to the Yarra Valley, Bass Coast to the Bellarine Peninsula and many places in between 🌎

Every brigade is unique. Different communities, different challenges and different ways of doing things. But one thing is always the same: the commitment, dedication and passion for making volunteering better.

Every brigade we’ve met shares a common goal: to improve the experience for their members, support future volunteers, and ultimately provide the best possible service to their community.

While we’re building StationOne, it’s your feedback, ideas and experience that continue to shape its future. Every conversation, suggestion and challenge helps us build a platform that genuinely reflects the needs of volunteers.

Instant notifications, only about the things that matter 🎯

As we get closer to the public launch of our Native iOS and Android StationOne App - push notifications are starting to come together 📲

Push notifications provide an immediate alternate to email notifications, ensuring you are immediately made aware of any tasks or issues that may affect your operation without clogging up your inbox.

We have added more push notification support in v0.23.0 of the platform, and are aiming to make a general release for the Native App in the coming weeks 🎉
